Ryan Tannehill is 31 so it might be a good opportunity for Cole to be a starter in a few years if he develops.

Wow the Titans released Cole

The move appears to be made in order to make room for free agent quarterback Trevor Siemian, who the Titans brought on with a one-year deal on Wednesday, according to Siemian’s agent, Mike McCartney.

That's a shame. Without a true preseason in these strange times, Cole didn't really have an opportunity to show his physical talent and play making skills. But when one door closes, another one opens. Maybe the Titans felt that they needed a more experienced backup.

That was quick. Hope he can hook on with another team. Didn't seem like he had much of an opportunity.

The agent gets paid not just to read the contract but to make sure that his client has the best chances to making the team or being traded or doing the selling that he needs to do. A sports agent is not just a lawyer.

But the player still has to perform on the field. Read somewhere that Cole threw two picks to an undrafted FA on Mon. He has to make the most of his opportunities, and he didn't. As a 7th round pick, he doesn't get too many opportunities.

Where was his agent when the following got posted?

It's like the kiss of death. I thought it was the kiss of death when DeForest Buckner said Patrick Mahomes hasn't seen a defense as fast as the 49ers the week before the Superbowl. There are some things you just do not do. Who's his advisor? I would think a good agent would set him on the right path where he can be most successful.

Everyone is responsible for their own success or failure. He shouldn't have to have an agent holding his hand 24/7 telling him what to do and what not to do. If he needs that, he'll never make it in the NFL anyways.
He may just be a victim of circumstance. With no rookie camps, etc, I doubt any 3rd day draft pick will make the roster. The Titans probably just wanted someone with NFL game experience as a backup just in case Tannehill goes down. Titans are looking at Cole for the PS so they must see some potential in him. That's where I expected him to end up anyways.
