Not only did this former Utah State and Punahou great lose his father, but he’s battling a rare form of stage 4 cancer. This makes football losses seem super minimal in comparison and is heartbreaking as hell.
It also adds to the horrific health issues that Hawaii high school football class of 2010 greats have faced. Jeremy Ioane (who nearly died from a kidney ailment and can never play football again) and Kona Schwenke come to mind.
