Good luck to him. I didn't think he would make it but I hope he does.kapakahi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 9:48 pm https://twitter.com/seattletimes/status/1166082389006868488

Saw Ursua returning punts for Seattle last pre season game. Why would he do that? don't he know returning punts is the kiss of death for UH players in the NFL. Thats what did in for Chad Owens and Greg Salas. heck event far back as dana Mclemore and
gary Allen, actually think Allen did kick off returns not sure

I think Seattle is looking for a kick and punt returner. John only has one kick and one punt return stat. One of Chad Owen's strengths was his ability to return kicks and so was Dana McLemore's. In fact, Dana was primarily kept by the 49ers because he could make the first person miss on punt returns. Every time they put him in cover, he got beat but the 9ers kept him because he was good at never fumbling on the punt and returning for a gain. John Ursua is a true slotback like Davone Bess.whirlygig5 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 1:28 pm Saw Ursua returning punts for Seattle last pre season game. John Ursua is on the 53 man roster.

The release of Jaron Brown was a surprise, but shows how much the Seahawks like their young players at that position, including three 2019 draft picks, Metcalf, Jennings and Ursua. With Moore expected to miss time early in the regular season with an arm injury, the Seahawks will be leaning on multiple unproven but talented young players behind Lockett.

Hope he stays healthy and continues after free agency. I wonder how much Norm Chow's son makes in the deal.

Wow...a decent contract for a 7th round pick. From all the video evidence, I'd say he has found a happy place. Injuries will happen but that's beyond anyone's control. Check McKenzie Milton's horrific injury last year and Colt Brennan's as well. Still, we've had guys anchor major teams for well above the average career length in the NFL.shrek2 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 10:09 am Hope he stays healthy and continues after free agency. He seems like a genuinely deserving player so I wish him the length of play for his team that Jesse Sapolu enjoyed. Good luck.

I am so proud of him for making the team. I look forward to watching his games for sure. He has worked hard for this and he deserves it! I pray you stay healthy Ursua.

Re: *** Official John Ursua Thread ***
John Ursua makes his first catch of the season which was a critical catch within one minute left in the game, Seattle gets the ball at the 1 yard line against the 49ers. It puts Seattle in a first down and 1 to go for the TD. But..., being a 49er fan, Seattle had a delay of game penalty which put them on the 6 yard line which hurt their chances in getting in. Hurrah for Ursua for getting the key catch!
