Re: SportsHawaii.com Bracket Challenge
have nominal interest in this year's tournament but I have a good interest in winning a billion dollar$$ per all those banner ads I see so I randomly generated 63 numbers and if the number was really high I picked an upset, and if it was low, I picked the higher seed. about as statistically random as you can get, which is probably what I need to even get a chance at a perfect bracket!
I'm guessing I need powerball-like odds to get it right, but I feel doing it this way has a better chance than the traditional way, because in all the years I've been following, even with hundreds of millions of people trying annually, almost no one has ever gotten perfect past the first couple rounds.. I'll probably lose, but just wanted to try this method out for fun and to see what happens.

If you took all of the #1 seeds (because they never lost to a 16 seed) than you reduce your odds to 128 billion to 1.

ended up taking all the #1 seeds but I used generic statistics to make all the decisions - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Men's ... hip_upsetsScott wrote:9,223,372,036,854,775,808 to 1 odds of a randomly picked bracket.ubercow wrote:have nominal interest in this year's tournament but I have a good interest in winning a billion dollar$$ per all those banner ads I see so I randomly generated 63 numbers and if the number was really high I picked an upset, and if it was low, I picked the higher seed. about as statistically random as you can get, which is probably what I need to even get a chance at a perfect bracket!

'6' 12 seeds won the opening round in the last 3 years (out of 12 games) so if the random number between 1-100 was greater than 50, I put that as an upset.
had my first number have come out as 100 or 99, I probably would have put a 16 as a win over the 1. '3' 15s won their opener in the last few years which is why I have two 15s advancing - it's kinda fun to put selections where the screens say 99% of submitters are going the other way.

The man with the GOLDEN guns does not have any reason to get 1 BILLION dollars...( GOD is good...but NOT that good!! )Scott wrote:One Billion Dollars, HERE I COME!!!
The man who roots for the CUBs and COWBOYS really has NO CHANCE at winning 1 BILLION dollars....but if you work harder, you'll have GUNS as big as SCOTT !!! Okay, that's really delusional !Irse wrote:One billion dollars, there I go. Picked OSU.

Forgot about checking for this.
Bang my head.

WOA......hopefully, the IRSEman isn't a PIPA MIDDLETON Stalker? Otherwise, I would enjoy my toasted brackets with the same jelly or jam that IRSEman is having!Irse wrote:Currently bringing up the rear.
