Marshall also confirmed that he'll wear No. 19 this year after being unable to convince Davone Bess to part with No. 15, which he wore with the Denver Broncos.
“Yes it is," he said. "I am going to roll with 19.”
So much for my statement. Bess just signed a 2 year extension.J-Rod wrote:He will not be back with Miami next season. Davone just might be the top WR in next years FA class. He will get PAID!!!!
I sure hope the Dolphins utilize him more. They haven't even come close to tapping his talent. This dude would be over 100 rec, 1,000+ yds and 10-12 TD's a season if he played SB for a pass happy team!J-Rod wrote:So much for my statement. http://warriorbeat.honadvblogs.com/2010 ... the-money/Davone Bess just agreed to a contract extension that will make him one of the 35 highest-paid receivers in the NFL. Figures were not released, but estimates of the range begin at an average of $3.5 million per year. He would be be under contract through the 2013 season, but that would allow him to be a free agent when he is 28.
Yeah but you're still partially right. Bess is going to get PAID!!J-Rod wrote:So much for my statement. Bess just signed a 2 year extension.J-Rod wrote:He will not be back with Miami next season. Davone just might be the top WR in next years FA class. He will get PAID!!!!

Former Hawaii standout Davone Bess will be among the 32 highest-paid receivers in the NFL, according to reports.
After reaching agreement on a lucrative contract extension with the Miami Dolphins yesterday, former Hawaii receiver Davone Bess crafted a wish list.
"I'm going to buy a new crib," said Bess, whose son was born two weeks ago. "I'm tired of him sleeping next to my wife. I need to sleep next to my wife."
After not being selected in the 2008 NFL Draft, Bess signed a two-year, free-agent contract with the Dolphins. As a restricted free agent this past spring, he agreed to a one-year contract with the Dolphins. He is earning the NFL minimum of $475,000 for a player with two years of credited experience.
Under terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Bess cannot be an unrestricted free agent until after the 2013 season.
But the Dolphins decided to restructure his contract, paying him a signing bonus that he may cash immediately, and guaranteeing parts of his wages through the 2013 season. In most NFL contracts, only the signing bonus is guaranteed.
Bess and agent Kenny Zuckerman agreed not to disclose the exact financial terms. But it has been reported that Bess will be among the 32 highest-paid receivers in the NFL. The 35th highest-paid receiver has a contract averaging $3.5 million annually.
"The intent of this was to get him financial security and another bite of the apple," Zuckerman said, noting Bess will be 28 when this deal expires in 2013.
Bess said: "I'm thankful for the opportunity. Even though I didn't get drafted, Miami gave me an opportunity to compete. It gave me a chance to work hard in the system, and it paid off. It's been a long journey. This is a new chapter."
