LOL! Hoping Miami can land a big time QB for the future and change to a 4 wide offense similar to New England.xer 21 wrote: mediocre? nah man, henne is awesom...

Andy Cohen: Bess Is Clearly A Special Player
11:33 Tue 11-30-10
by Andy Cohen
Dolphin Digest editor Andy Cohen takes a look at Davone Bess and wonders: Can we now move past the Wes Welker trade?
So many impressive performances against Oakland. Chad Henne’s best game of the season. The return of the running game. A dominating rushing defense. Controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides. All important. All worth savoring.
But every time I start thinking about all those positives, I keep coming back to one player.
Davone Bess.
Was this kid special against the Raiders, or what?

Bess And Marshall Closing In On The Marks Brothers' Record; Other Notes
05:11 Thu 12-23-10
by Andy Kent
The Marks Brothers they are not – but Davone Bess and Brandon Marshall are on the verge of supplanting that popular wide receiver tandem for the Miami Dolphins in the record books.
With a combined three catches in the final two games of the season, Bess and Marshall will break the record of 144 total receptions set by Mark Clayton and Mark Duper back in 1984. Clayton finished with 73 and Duper with 71, while Bess and Marshall each are sitting at 71.
“They put up some numbers and it’s definitely an honor to be mentioned with them,” said Bess, who is on pace for a career-high 81 receptions after catching 76 last season. “I actually keep in contact with both of them and they’re great guys. I try to pick their brains as I am just trying to get a hold of this NFL thing, and they’ve taught me to don’t be complacent; always try to get better and better.”

My Generation: Wide Receivers
By Andy Kent
October 10, 2011
Current and former Dolphins stars share their views on different football topics. This edition features Mark Duper and Davone Bess.
Who is the toughest cornerback you faced?
Bess: “I would go with Darrelle Revis because he’s got the entire cover package - speed, hands and athleticism.”
Duper: “I can’t pick just one, so it would have to be Mike Haynes and Lester Hayes of the Oakland Raiders. Haynes was the best cover guy with his long arms and he could run, and Hayes was right behind him with his sure hands.”

Bess: From Undrafted To Unequaled
By Alain Poupart
Posted Oct 27, 2011
There really wasn’t much debate, but it became official during Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.
When it comes to finding a hidden gem at wide receiver, the Dolphins have never done better than Davone Bess.
With his seven catches against Denver, Bess now has 233 for his career since joining the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2008. That total is the highest ever for a Dolphins wide receiver who was undrafted, as Bess beat out the total of 227 put together by Oronde Gadsden between 1998 and 2003.
No other undrafted Dolphins wide receiver ever had more than 113.

is it just me, or does Chad Henne's backup only ever throw to brandon marshall?
i swear, he locks in on him all game, he's the only one who catches passes anymore.

For a few weeks there, it looked liked Bess caught Salasitis and had a few fumbles.

Bess Shedding Stigma Of Just Being A Slot Guy
Andy Kent - Dolphins.com
Posted Oct 24, 2012
Five years ago, Davone Bess was just establishing himself as a go-to slot receiver with the Miami Dolphins, knowing he had the potential to do so much more.
Through six games this season, Bess is branching out in offensive coordinator Mike Sherman’s system while at the same time trying to shake his national perception as just a slot guy. When he was getting his start as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2008, Bess would have welcomed any national praise, so he hasn’t let that slot moniker used by writers and analysts bother him too much.
