Re: 2023 Recruiting, Offers & Visits
John winning the shot put is a testament to his ability to generate power and utilize leverage. Impressive for a guy who's around 200 lbs, a newbie and a young guy who's still growing.

Re: RB David Afari commits
Has good vision, bounces when needed and runs behind his pads. However, he definitely needs to work on quickness through the hole.

Re: Hawaii vs. BYU series looks dead now
BYU is no longer a recruiting nemesis to us anymore. Another reason not to care as much anymore. The local blue chips are skipping BYU and going other places now. Local LDS kids still go to BYU. Most never become stars. Think about all the kids who were studs, go on a mission and return to BYU to p...

Eaglin 's tape sucked...ran very upright, with no shake and more importantly little power explosion. NEXT!

Surprised his recruiting got so hot....Florida St offered...that is next level.
Good luck in flat, cold as hell in the winter and $hitty chick selection in Kansas.

Re: Tylan Hines RB commits & signed
Likely will see time early as a return specialist and slot...too slight for RB. Kid has some shake and those teams in Dallas are legit, so the pedigree is high caliber.

Re: Pitt QB Joey Yellen committed
His film in High School, @ ASU and @ Pitt definitely show he has some great QB traits - ball placement, touch and reading coverage. The ball placement is remarkable in the outside hash throws - a pro throw.

Re: RB Zaren Crockett commits
I'm assuming PWO. He never said he got an offer or that he "committed". He has a bunch of D3 and NAIA offers, but no D1 offers. He looks like he's playing at a different speed than his opponents, but his best 100m time 11.98. So he's not real fast. Huh? How fast your 100m? 12 sec is quick...

Scholarship or PWO? I asked because he stated academic career instead of athletic or football. I'm assuming PWO. He never said he got an offer or that he "committed". He has a bunch of D3 and NAIA offers, but no D1 offers. He looks like he's playing at a different speed than his opponents...

No matter....if he don't wanna be here, go.uhwarriors wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 11:57 pm Our chances of getting Wright seem to be getting less likely each day. Hopefully Coach Abe's over 2 year relationship with Wright wins out over these last minute offers from P5 schools.

This is a big dude. Glad we got him. Vanterpool is a senior, yes. But he just might have some competition going in to fall camp. Vanderpool can also slide to G. Jumbo package to strong side. Huge G and T. This guy's feet and punch are next level and someone will likely have to move position.

Wow...just wow. This kid was offered by Saban (Alabama) they only target the best in the country... besides offers from other SEC programs. 35 offers from all the big boy schools. Super excited to see this guy hit the field. His ability to use speed and leverage to get to the QB is clear in his film...

Re: Solomon Turner in transfer portal
Solo is a tweaner- to big /slow for safety and to small for a LB. He saw the writing on the wall.
He had a better opportunity at DB, but obviously wasn't with the first team. Our LB room is legit and going go get better once coached up, so he had limited chances.

A visit is a visit....especially an unofficial where they pay their own way and there's only possible upside for UH. The excitement is real and TC is riding this momentum. A near .500 season will be a good start. Fingers crossed. Neon Deion has been getting 3 and 4 * , so I believe TC can do the same.

Re: Army (and Riverside City College) transfer DT Etuate Moala commits
Has the size, long arms and strength to hold the point. That's important since it keeps the OL off our LBs. He'll definitely needs to work on lateral agility and exploding off the line, especially at the college level where brute force without technique will get you buried. @Palolo_2LA: I normally ...
