I can agree 100% that his original departure was a lost for UH. For today or tomorrow, if Baylor does not want him, why should UH?

This thread is about "getting back on track" so maybe too early.

Re: RIP Russ Francis

Watched him a few times wresting with Bill Francis at the Blasdell, tag team. It was never his (RF) thing you can tell. They won BTW.

Aloha.

Re: Then and Now

I don't know if we can separate the label "casual" anymore. That was easy when attendance was 46,000. If UH gets 8,000 now. Take out the students. Not saying students are not fans. But the game is now on campus, and students get in free (correct?) So how many fans do we really have? With c...

Re: Then and Now

No taligating, the bad stadium game day experience (not football related), the product on the field (football related) makes gathering with family & friends with PPV a better option. Before people wouldn't dare schedule weddings, baby luaus or company parties on home game days. Rain never stopp...

Re: Schager Year 3

Timmy is forcing the long game. JJ liked a game plan that was a ball control passing game, short slants, short outs , screens, shovel, spread the field. Get the ball out fast, setup the running game then hit them with the long ball when safeties have to support the short passes. You're right. We ha...

Re: How Is Chang Going To Get This Train Back On Track?

UH leadership now know that they can no longer do 2+ year then fired. Todd Graham brought in his guys (including BS13) and other the "Texas" guys. TG is out. Now, Chang brough in RNS guys. If UH fires Chang, all these efforts would have gone to waste. But I think the situation is a bit dif...

Re: Schager Year 3

Maybe T-Chang should turn the play calling back to Shoe. Shoe is a 20+ year coach. Let him do this job again. We can point to last year, but that was Year 1. Maybe the HC should focus on being the HC, and not being OC or play calling. I'm sure there's lots to focus on during the game. RNS may be Cha...

Re: ***OFFICIAL UH vs. UNLV GAME THREAD***

A run game is good and all but I can't remember June Jones ever using the run to set up the pass in the RnS. I think it's actually opposite, he used the pass to set up the run. Agree. JJ was all passing. There were times I wish he would run the ball instead. We only remember the highlights, but not...

Re: TE Frank Abreu commits

I should take back the word "Master" on how to be open. Myabe best or better option WR at the time. OR maybe he was the QB's favorite guy to throw to. The point I wanted to make using DC was that one does not need to be "fast" to get opened, and be effective.

Re: TE Frank Abreu commits

Thanks for making that connection from the past.

Dylan Collie was one of the most productive WR during his Jr year, before leaving UH for BYU. He was slow (IMO), but was a master on how to get open.

Related to former UH player Sean (Shawn?) Abreu? I think he was DL or OL.

Re: *** Official 2023 UH vs New Mexico St Game thread ***

Rolo's RNS often includes a bit of RPO. Is T-Chang not a fan of that style? Just watching it on TV, I'm starting to see some predictably with Chang. Just don't know who BS13 is going to throw it to. Imagine if the opposing D was to study the film. Is adding RPO too much overload for the QB to read t...

Re: Hawaii vs. Oregon Game Thread

Was a fan of coach Deion, as he said a lot of good things. The one thing he said a few times that I don't like something like "we are going to hurt someone...." Yes, football is a violent sport. We all know that. IMO, don't say it publicly. Keep it in the locker room or practice field. If ...
