No comments made on that article from three days ago. I guess no Arizona fan is interested.
That's a basketball school. They made their first major bowl in ages in 2014. Played Boise in the Fiesta Bowl and had fewer fans in the stands than the Broncos. In a bowl game that was in Arizona...

Re: 2019 UH vs Arizona Preview

Tough team to figure out. Underwhelmed in year #1 under Sumlin. Star quarterback Khalil Tate regressed quite a bit. Lost to a dreadful UCLA team one week, smoked Oregon the next. This is a winnable game for UH, but hard to tell which Wildcats team shows up.

..and yes, you could say the same about UH.

FWIW: most preseason magazines have UH going 7-6 or so.

Common takeaways: schedule is one of the conference's toughest. Continuity on the coaching staff is a huge plus. Progress (or lack thereof) on defense will define season.

Re: SBNation Hawaii Football Preview 2019

As in depth as it gets. So many games on the schedule where the swing is less than 10 points. This team could go anywhere from 5-8 to 9-4.

Re: Athlon Preseason Rankings of all 130 D1 teams

Conference in general loses a lot of experience from 2018 (Hawaii one of the few that doesn't). Expecting another season that ends with three MWC teams ranked would be optimistic to say the least.

Yeah, can't imagine QBs will be flocking here with Cole a junior and Chevan a RS freshman next season.

Re: Football Offseason is killing me!

Hoping for another winning season and step forward for the program, but the increase in schedule difficulty also has me just hoping we don't have another 2017-like bad surprise too. Team could easily be 1-5 to start the year if they're not careful. Spring/summer/fall development, as always, will be ...

That wasn't strike one for Maeva. The was strike three. He's quietly been suspended at other times too.

Re: Former Kaiser HS '16 All-State OL Michael Eletise transferring to UH

UH gave up 9 sacks to a C-USA program in the season finale. We're not good enough to turn players like Eletise away. Worst case he's a solid depth add.

Welcome aboard, Michael.

Lincoln Victor signs with Hawaii

Based on 247's ratings, he is Hawaii's top-rated recruit for this class.

Re: 2019 Feb LOI day

Signed 13, had three gray shirts (Panoke, Ward, Washington) and plus Green and Ward counts against this year. So have 7 to give. Got two commitments (Abbott and Hilborn) so can give 5 more. Yup. I suspect a surprise or two on Wednesday, and the rest of the offers are either given to walk-ons who've...

I hope he plays DE. Hawaii has been too small there for too long. There is a reason opponents run directly to the edge against UH.

Re: is it too early to ask: will hawaii bowl again in 2019?

7-6 San Diego State was the only team with a winning record that Hawaii beat in 2018. Dream big, but definitely do so while being guarded. I don't think this is a 9+ win type program just yet. Talent is not there, especially on defense. Team should improve, but again...so does the schedule. 6-8 win ...

Re: is it too early to ask: will hawaii bowl again in 2019?

I don't know. Like many have said, we could be better as a team next season...but not win as many games. Hawaii ranked in the 120s in SOS in 2018. That won't even be remotely close to being the case in 2019. Hawaii was also relatively healthy in 2018 compared to most teams. Those things tend to swin...

Re: Time to grade Rolovich's midterm/finals

B+ considering the circumstances. Warriors ranked in the 120s in returning experience going into 2018. Vegas o/u on wins was 3/5. Beating those expectations from neutrals with a very young team should be commended. ...but I agree with Waryor, can't go with A- or better cause let's be real, the team ...
