Re: Hawaii football team cancels spring practice, scrimmage

Teams with new coaches and new systems will be at a huge disadvantage without spring practice against teams that have the same coaches and systems from last year. There's no way you can install new systems on offense and defense in fall camp and be competitive against them. You need spring practice...

Re: break out player 2020

DL was starting to get bossed by season's end. In the moments La'ulu played, it was a little surprising he wasn't being utilized earlier. The speed and quickness to rush the passer, and the ability to stop the run. In recent years, UH has been thin on DL with both skills.

This caught my eye:
INTERIOR OFFENSIVE LINE
1. Netane Muti, Fresno State

Awesome for the boy from Wahiawa if this happens
Few recruiting beats hurt like Muti did. He ended up being elite. Losing out on a recruit to a then terrible Fresno stung.

Re: New Defensive Coach - Laiu Moeakiola

This staff is definitely heavy on high risk, high reward types. Thin on FBS position coaching experience across the board.

Players, coaches will be growing together next fall.

Re: Phase 3

Hawaii ranks 102nd nationally in returning production (these stats account for all production, not just starters). 109th on offense, 75th on defense. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28649423/college-football-teams-most-returning-production-2020 Phase 3 might be on the table, but I'd...

WR Quin Bright Signs LOI

What a huuuuge get. In terms of rating, offers, etc....that's the biggest get since Kennedy Tulimasealii. Yes, the question is there: why did all those schools suddenly back off Bright. Whatever it is, I hope his house is in order...cause this would be an enormous addition for UH. Hawaii doesn't get...

Huh. 31 years old. Three years coaching experience. Graduate assistant, offensive analyst, "offensive special projects". Now will oversee UH offensively. Quite the jump.

Re: 2020 Expectations with Graham

But I wouldn’t underestimate Chevan Cordeiro stepping up and playing at a very high level. I have always thought he has more upside than Cole. And he will get fans more excited than Cole did if he continues to be successful. We will get more than 4-6 wins. But equally important, the team will find ...

Re: 2020 Expectations with Graham

I’m a optimistic. Saying both Losses at Oregon And Air Force I wouldn’t say losses yet . Coach Graham is a Defensive coach though his teams are known for his offenses . With a good Defensive coach and game plan it could be wins in either game . Well, this is where Coach Graham will have to demonstr...

2020 Expectations with Graham

I'm starting this thread for curiosity's sake. We still need more information in terms of staff, but we know who Rolovich's successor is: Todd Graham. Graham is taking over a 10-5 team that won the West Division in 2019. Hawaii, however, will lose 11 starters including Cole McDonald, three key wide ...

Re: Which UH staff member will be retained

It would not be cool if Graham pulled the plug on guys like Abe who worked hard through an ugly period. Still, he has to hire the best candidates available. I would guess Yoro, Batoon, Abe return and maybe a few others. Can't imagine Graham's selection process will be picky considering the assistant...
