Re: What Are The Warriors Chances Against SDST?

According to today's SA, Tsai reports
Receivers Zion Bowens, Chuuky Hines and Koali Nishigaya have received full medical clearance and are set to play in Saturday’s road game against San Diego State

This is great news. Bowens is quoted as saying that the Warriors new offense is a WRs dream.

Re: What Are The Warriors Chances Against SDST?

The question might be is how are the Warriors going to adapt to playing on San Diego's grass field. For the Warriors the last 17 games have been played on turf. The first game last season was played on a grass field, where the Warriors lost to UCLA 44-10 and averaged slightly more than 1 yard a rush...

Re: Let's Change Some Of Our Starters

The backup punter to Shipley should get a chance. On the season Shipley has punted 27 times for 39.6 average (net of 35 yards) Last season the player averaged 41 with 2 punts blocked. Here's a player that's been super hyped yet his performance is poor. In comparison former punters, Scruton and Stack...

Re: Let's Change Some Of Our Starters

Jordan Johnson should see more action. After 5 games the player's taken 31 snaps with the majority of the snaps at RB. In the first 2 games of the season he lined up for a couple of plays at WR. The last 3 games none, which makes no sense since Johnson's the fastest player on the team and the Warrio...

Re: What Are The Warriors Chances Against SDST?

Can Caleb Phillips at TE be the answer to making the offense click, similarly how Chang coached TE Turner at Nevada? In the first four games of the season Phillips was targeted 4 times. Against NMST Turner was targeted 11 times for 8 catchees and of 71 plays on offense he lined up at slot 15 times. ...

What Are The Warriors Chances Against SDST?

The Warriors play SDST a week from today. The question will be if Hawaii's team is a pretender or contender in the nationally televised game, in the start of MWC play and against a SDST team that the Warriors have beaten only twice in its last 10 games. From a historical standpoint the Warriors have...

Re: The bright spots of the team

Nasjzae Bryant grades the highest on offensive side of the ball with a grade of 76.9 on 86 plays in 5 games. Parson grades a 64.0 on a 193 plays. The player that should be contending for a starting job is Kolby Wyatt at DE with a defensive grade of 75.4 on 70 plays. The other DE's/Soli-61/Welsh-60/C...

Re: The bright spots of the team

The player that grades the highest on the team is #52, Evaimalo. In 5 games he's been in on140 plays and grades a cumulative defensive grade of 82.3 according to pff.com. His run defense grade is 85.5. Overall he's has 10 tackles. The bright spot is that Evaimalo is improving and has 3 more years to...

Re: New Stadium

Did anyone read today's SA regarding the stadium? On the front page reads Ige going in a different direction, and there should be an answer in 2 weeks. At issue is the price tag of 350 million, which was the price tag in 2017 dollars and doesn't account for inflation and rising cost of materials 5 y...

Re: New Stadium

If only Abercrombie hadn't loss to then Sen. Ige in the 2014 primary and was re-elected Governor, the University of Hawaii wouldn't be without a stadium. I believe Abercrombie would have got his hands on the Aloha Staduim mess. Why I say this is because Abercrombie was a big supporter of UH athletic...

So still no Call the Coach - Timmy Chang this week. Or no longer on youtube? Just looked it up....On ESPN's website. https://www.espnhonolulu.com/call-the-coach/ ***DUE TO NEW COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, THERE WILL BE NO “CALL THE COACH” UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.*** What new COVID restrictions? Manning Graded Well Against NMST

Manning graded a cumulative score of 91.3 against New Mexico State according to pff.com, which is the player's career high grade. After 54 games and starts, Manning received an A grade, which very few Warrior players (both offensively and defensively) have achieved in the last 10 years. For an O-lin...

Re: 2022 W-L record

New Mexico State vs UH outcome didn't surprise me eventhough some odds makers thought UH should have been a 2 point favorite. NMST was underrated imo. The team played Nevada and UTEP to one score losses. The same UTEP team beat Boise handily. So I think NMST wasn't a pushover as some people think. U...

Re: Why is the run defense so bad?

Maybe the worst Hawaii defense in modern era? It's hard to beat Von Appen's 0/12 record in 1998. He managed to win 5 games over 3 years. Chow did a little better in fostering a 2nd worst team by winning only 10 games over 4 years. I like this defense, but Muasau was a major catalyst that is missing...

Re: Why is the run defense so bad?

Pavihi grades a 35.5 at run defense after five games this season. Of all the graded LB's in FBS Pavihi ranks 813 according to pff.com. What's worse he's terrible in pass coverage, too. His poor play is bringing the defense down. Pavihi the Solo Vaipulu twin, where both players were hyped by the coac...
