Re: WR Chuuky Hines Commits

maybe redshirt this year with McBride, Panoke, Pupunu, Mokiao-Atimalala & Nishigaya being seniors? If they red shirt, they don't take him off the roster. He was #84 last season. There is no #84 on the Spring Roster, so his number may be reserved. Perhaps excused this Spring to heal up, academic...

Re: JC Transfer 6-9, 330 OT Freddie Pelling Signs LOI

Honestly, his lack of quickness isn't something that will change. He might improve with explosive, plytomterics type exercises, but slow feet is cryptonite to an OT. Agreed. He's a big, pleasant fellow. But his stills are lacking. He's a project. His pass pro techniques and footwork has improved fr...

Re: Coaches Sapolu and Yoro Leaving

The musical chairs in coaching is crazy. Good luck to them. Gotta strike while the iron is hot whenever the opportunity for advancement financially and/or prestige arises. It’s tough for a family man to move around, but it’s the nature of the profession. There will be interest in those openings by v...

I saw flashes of Pisa Tinoisamoa in his highlights. I think he is gonna be real good.

I hope he used his greyshirt half year to gain weight and strength. Seems to be the same height & weight from a year and a half ago by uhwarriors » Sun Jun 26, 2022 12:17 am Dela Cruz was listed at 6-1, 195 last season. He lists himself now at 6-3, 220. If by kapakahi » Sat Jan 27, 2024 3:56 pm...

Re: Farrington HS RB Sitani Mikaele commits

Size reminds me of Mosi Tatupu, but he is much more agile and nimble. With all due respect to Sitani, Mosi Tatupu (RIP) was a whole different breed....simply a man among boys back in the Honolulu Stadium days....which is why he became the part-time starting FB (along with David Farmer Sr.) as a tru...

Re: OT Jay Tauala-Harris Commits

Yeah I was thinking no way he's 6'5" unless he's standing in a deep puka He's listed at 6-3. The graphic is wrong. Hope the 2 inch rule doesn't apply at his 6-3 listing. He looks to be an inch shorter (if looking straight ahead instead of slightly upward) than TC and TC is listed at 6-2. I tho...

Very good feet and vision. Size reminds me of Mosi Tatupu, but he is much more agile and nimble. Very nice get for UH.

Re: FREE SOLO

He is a tweener. Not big enough for OL against good competition. He is effective as a short yardage blocking back. Too slow for a running back and lacks RB experience. Yes, he might give us some yards in spurts against mediocre teams. Good defensive teams would shut him down as an RB. I like Morris...

Re: FREE SOLO

This may be a bit off on a tangent, but Solo looks more svelte than when he was an OL starter to me. I also felt more at ease seeing him in there for pass pro, and he should get more touches since he’s a decent runner and will punish LBs and DBs who have to tackle him.

Re: GM1: UH @Vandy Game Thread

Can't win when you playing refs and other team. What bad calls are you referring to? Vandy's QB being beyond the line of scrimmage (huge reverse call), there were a few clear holding by Vandys OL that weren't called, a few hits out of bounds that weren't called abd some PIs missed, that roughing th...
