Kalani vs. Punahou Soccer
Kalani deserved the win tonight. The center ref was obviously for Punahou the whole game. Kalani was getting fouled left and right and he didn't card Punahou at all. Yet as soon as the Punahou player fell down his yellow card came out right away against the Kalani players. I'm not even a Kalani fan ...

Great game against Campbell and Castle today. Both teams played hard and never gave up. Hard to understand though why the Lessary girls hit over the fence wasn't considered a home run. The score could have been 7-7. You could clearly see that the Campbell player pulled the fence way back with her bo...

Re: Let's talk Soccer
why wasn't #9 from Kamehameha given a red card in the game against Kaiser. Watched the game on t.v. and could not believe how many bad calls the refs were making against Kaiser. The center ref was giving Kaiser cards for little or no infractions and Kamehameha with the obvious fouls only got warning...

Why was there absolutely no coverage of the OIA Boys Soccer Tournament? I guess you have to be Punahou, Iolani or Kamehameha to rate any coverage in the Star-Advertiser. I'm hoping they at least have something about the OIA DI Championship game that was played tonight in the Sunday paper.

Re: let's talk boys basketball
I'm looking forward to watching Kamehameha and Iolani battle it out tomorrow night. Should be a great game if the refs. call it fairly. They were making a lot of bad calls in both games tonight.

Re: let's talk boys basketball
Wow, what was up with the Radford players? #25 with the cheap shot, elbows, body slams. I'm all for the kids playing hard, but when you start taking cheap shots because your team is getting owned, that is just no class. Why hurt the other teams players, and ruin that kids chances of playing in the n...

Why isn't the HHSAA more concerned about the officiating at High School Soccer games/tournaments? As an athletic trainer I've seen players get kicked and tackled deliberatly, lying on the ground in obvious pain for minutes without any stoppage in game. Concussions are a common occurance, do to offic...

Re: Heckling, bad-apple parents spoil it for kids
I witnessed an incident at a high school soccer game where parents were yelling "break his legs" during the game. It didn't help that the female coach of their team was cheering and pumping her fist in the air everytime her players would make late hits after the play was over and get carde...

Re: Cross Country 2009
runitout- The OIA qualifying methods are confusing, not only because they could potentially not send any full teams to the State meet, but also because they have different qualifying numbers for boys and girls. For Boys its 48 and Girls is 50 qualifiers. Thank you, 2LeftFeet! Is there a list out of...

Congratulations to the Castle Knights Varsity Boys and JV Boys Teams for coming in 1st Place in the OIA Eastern Division Championships this past weekend. The OIA East teams/runners are often overlooked and go unrecognized on these boards, so I thought I'd give them some kudos

Re: Cross Country 2009
Watched the OIA meet at Mililani, Martinez had another dominating performance and looks to be the frontrunner for now. The Leilehua boys team also looked much stronger this week. The Mililani girls continue to impress and their top three look like top ten State Championship contenders. I believe Je...
