Re: **The Los Angeles Lakers thread**

Bynum 0 pts. Kobe: 27 shots to get 31 pts. Wtf. I hate the Lakers and I'm still confused.

Re: Elite PG versus Elite C

pre or post Wilt rules? last i checked they didn't change any for Magic. Right. What kind of rule change could you make to stop his skillset? Maximum 5 passes per possession? Maximum 10 dribbles? It shows you, PGs will thrive in any environment and are absolute team-makers. You can't train height, ...

Re: ***The NBA Playoffs Thread***

Baby Blue Wrecking Crew! And we know they're gonna face the Lakers, yes, despite the Rockets having Von "Black Hole" Wafer. Still scary, the Nuggets dominated a one-man team where that one man was basically very injured; then they beat Dallas, which has way more offensive options, but not much defen...

Re: Elite PG versus Elite C

I'll reset this.

The draft is tomorrow. You are the Sacramento Kings (or some other worst team). Magic Johnson is available. Wilt Chamberlain is available.

Which one do you draft?

Re: Favre to talk with Vikings HC Childress about playing again

Go away Favre. You have cheapened the idea of "retirement." At least take a year off... it's shameless.

Haha, that said though, he actually makes a difference if he signs, but tavarua's point about domes is a good one.

Favre:

Silverdome: 3-7
Metrodome: 3-9
Texas Stadium: 0-5

Re: Elite PG versus Elite C

- The Spurs offensive strategy didn't start with Duncan. Duncan was an offensive OPTION who performed well. Just because you lead the team in scoring, doesn't mean that the team strategy is "go to X guy." The Spurs were a balanced team. - Defensive player of the year is a traditionally big man award...

I've always felt weird supporting someone nicknamed "Man Ram."

Re: ***The NBA Playoffs Thread***

No doubt. Cavs-Hawks is the only remaining series without any heart or passion in it, and that's cause the Cavs are gonna go to town on the Hawks regardless.

Re: ***The NBA Playoffs Thread***

I'm liking this 80's-90's Kurt Rambis, Pistons-Jordan style playoffs with the physicality: Rondo-Miller, K-Mart-Nowitzki, Alston-House (great post-game quote btw: "That's what happens when you start bustin' someone's @$$, they get upset and revert to bush league behavior."). But I definitely don't a...

Re: **The Los Angeles Lakers thread**

Derek Fisher = washed up, I don't have skill left, I have no place on this team, and therefore, I will change my name to Reagan Mauaia, and get first downs when someone tries to set a screen on me in the playoffs. And how about those special Kobe Rules? When Ron Artest post-game is the voice of reas...

Re: Elite PG versus Elite C

An elite C forces you to defend at very least one guy. An elite PG forces you to defend no less than the whole team. True story. I think if you have a great C, you can get away with a marginal-good PG. Look at the Magic this season and the Hornets. I hope you didn't just call CP3 a "marginal-good P...

Re: Elite PG versus Elite C

You're forgetting with each of these teams that these big men had significant help at every position. The '93 and '94 Houston championship teams featured four and six double digit scorers respectively, with young-version Horry and Cassel on the bench, and 50-Greatest/Dream Team player Clyde Drexler ...

Elite PG versus Elite C

Pretend you have an expansion team, or a team that is the definition of lottery bad. Available at the top of the draft is either an Elite (def: once in a lifetime/once every 20 years) PG or an Elite C. Which one do you select to build your team around? Which one do you think instantly makes your tea...

Re: Cleveland should make this move...

Not all successful teams are over the cap; case in point, Denver, and with the recession/economy, teams will not be willing to remain or go over the cap as they have in the past. Also, you forget that 2010 is the LeBron sweepstakes; the Cavs are going to have to come up BIG just to keep him in Cleve...
