Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

Pay per view back in my high school day was you had to go to the school hosting the game you wanted to watch your school play. You paid the gate, got admitted and got to see the game, live and in person on the scene. Just a wild guess, even in 2022, but I think the ticket price at the game venue is le...

Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

Kahuku-Punahou 2.0 shapes up as another one-score game like their first match earlier in the season. My impression of Punahou is that they performed better overall offense and defense.Williams had a monster rushing night, the short to intermediate air game was clicking, and the defense, except for the...

Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

All the playoff teams have a bye week this weekend. No games to talk about, but,in a way, maybe it’s not so bad.every team has at minimum two weeks to rehab injuries and two weeks to study tape on their opponents. I think the layoff tends to keep the games interesting because big upsets can occur on th...

Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

Kamehameha needs an offensive guru. They have been averaging under or at 14ppg for several years with the exception of the 2021 team. You have to have Hawaiian ancestry to even have a chance to qualify to take the entrance exam. Recruiting will always be limited. Like it or not, whites,blacks,Chines...

Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

Seems to me that Mililani is going to be the default winner to host state football finals. They have more on campus parking than Farrington does. There are also some shopping centers nearby that people will try to use,but I guess you might have to consider you might get booted.Farrington doesn’t hav...

Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

Keep this in mind. Aloha stadium is not a venue. There are not any places in the islands that can hold 10,000 fans for hs football championships anymore. Mililani is the largest capacity I know of for football unless War Memorial on Maui is bigger, but that’s it for now.TC Ching and UH aren’t hostin...

Re: Hawaii Recruiting next 2 years (or more)

I figgah like this, You are right. I’ve posted this before in years past on the UH football thread. If UH wants to be a national FBS power , then they are going to have to recruit players from all over the USA like Ohio State ,Alabama,Georgia, Clemson, etc do. Hawaii has a small population base. Eve...

Might want to change the thread to 2022-2023 wrestling year. 2021-2022 was the previous school year, not the current one.

Re: 2021-2022 Wrestling Season

Flowrestlings preseason high school rankings have been updated earlier in October for both boys and girls. No Hawaii boys are currently in the top 30 nationwide in any of the weight classes. There are a few girls who are in the top30 for their weight. Isabelle Asuncion, Pearl City 117 No.22 Lainey E...

Re: 2022 Open/D-I Top Ten

Alright then, back to football. Kahuku-Mililani. I like Kahuku for the win.Mililani is pass heavy and doesn’t get that much production consistently from the run game. Kahuku is balanced on offense,Mililani isn’t. Still,a flawless pass performance in one game could turn the tide for the Trojans if the...
