Re: JC Transfer 6-9, 330 OT Freddie Pelling in the Portal

Not unexpected. He made some progress, but not nearly enough to get into the depth at a position of need. Clears room for a more ready to play OT from the portal or JC ranks.

Re: DA PORTAL

If scholarships become available, I wouldn't mind 2 OLs, 1 DT, 1 rush end and 1 QB. I don't know if that many scholarships open up, but I think at least 2 will. OT and DT are the highest priorities. I'm pretty sure another DT will commit in the next week or two. Hopefully an OT commits sometime thi...

Re: New Aloha Stadium & TC Ching Expansion

Two teams have been select to submit proposals. However the big news is that the State House bill to move the stadium to UH has died. A State House bill proposing to move the new stadium project to the University of Hawaii campus died in the State Senate shortly after it crossed over March 7. https:...

Re: SC Coach Kody Cooke Leaving

Coach Cooke is an advanced SC coach. During one strength and conditioning session out on the field, I noticed an interesting exercise where the players were running with their two hands holding a stick above their heads. Later I asked Coach Cooke what the purpose of the exercise was. He told me that...

Re: SC Coach Kody Cooke Leaving

“Kody Cooke did an amazing job,” Brown said. “The best thing he did was embrace the culture. He loved the players, and the players loved him. When he told them he had to leave and take the job, it was very emotional. He couldn’t finish his sentence. The boys were pretty choked up. It was a very sad...

SC Coach Kody Cooke Leaving

This is a big loss in more ways than just for the strength and conditioning program. Coach Cooke was brought in by TG, but really learned to embrace Hawaii and live Aloha. He helped oversee the redesign and upgrading of the Waterhouse Sports Performance Facility which has been modernized and can tra...

Re: New DT/NG coach Jeff Reinbold

I saw Reinebold's boxing drills and was intrigued by them. Now I understand the theory and translation to DL play.

Re: JC Transfer 6-9, 330 OT Freddie Pelling Signs LOI

Waiting to see if this international recruit pans out Honestly, his lack of quickness isn't something that will change. He might improve with explosive, plytomterics type exercises, but slow feet is cryptonite to an OT. Agreed. He's a big, pleasant fellow. But his stills are lacking. He's a project...

Re: 2024 Kaimuki HS WR Jeremiah "Miah" White commits

Having played against Zeus when Damien scrimmaged Farrington, I got to know him and his wife Ginger. He was super humble and a hell of a runner (scary when he leaned his head to the side when he started to pock up speed). We also played basketball at Kapalono in the early 2000s, and he had a sweet ...

Re: Coaches Sapolu and Yoro Leaving

I think by the end of spring practice, Faavi will officially be the OL coach. There's also a very good chance current GA, Locher will be the new S coach. I have a feeling Fa'avi is the next OL coach and maybe the GA that the SA did the story on is the new S coach. I don't remember a story on a GA be...

Re: 2023 Walk-on hybrid DE/OLB Jackie Johnson III

When I was at practice last week, I noticed him. Undersized, but very active and always working hard. Reinebold says he has a motor. I can attest to that.
