Re: MBB 2020 Recruiting
I think Villa will get the nod over Bayles early in the season. But I think eventually, probably by conference season next season, Bayles will be the backup to Buggs. And I don't think that's a knock on Villa, I think he's good and he'll be good for UH. But I don't ever see him being a starting PG ...

Re: 2019-20 MBB Schedule
Anybody feel like UH lacks any kind of physical play? Seems like only Drew Buggs and Samuta Avea are the only ones willing to mix it up inside. I hope in the offseason they can increase the vertical jumps of their seven foot centers to at least two feet and also make them more capable of moving bet...

Re: MBB 2020 Recruiting
This guy is a stud. One year behind Buggs, will do wonders for him as well. I notice a lot of people overlooking Jessiya Villa as a pg contender in the post-Buggs era. Villa should have the edge next year in regards to knowing the offense/defense over any incoming guards next season. I think Villa ...

Re: MBB 2020 Recruiting
Took off Je'lani Clark who just verbally committed to Nevada after an official visit there. He must not have expressed a ton of interest in going to UH or UH felt that he was going to commit to Nevada because he ended up not taking an official visit to UH, as I first mentioned. The next prospect tha...

MBB Rainbow Classic
2 wins and 1 loss to start the season. The South Dakota and Pacific games were definitely a lot more exciting to watch than the Florida A&M game. Even though they didn't pull out the win against South Dakota, they clawed their way back from a double digit 2nd half deficit and were a few shots, d...

Re: UH basketball lands 6-foot-6 guard Beon Ja Riley
Awesome get for Hawaii. Can truly play the 1-4 at a high D1 level. Excited for this recruit, and the Gerlefsun coming to UH seemed to seal the deal for them!

Re: Chevan NEEDS TO START!!!!
Most popular thing to say when a team is struggling is to put replace the starting QB. But I really don't see how that would help improve this team. I think Cordeiro is fine as a backup, but I really don't see him as a starter for this team. He's way too inconsistent, forcing balls into coverage at ...

Re: MBB 2020 Recruiting
Just added above Beon Riley, a 6'6 combo guard out of Chula Vista, California. He took an official visit to UH sometime this weekend. He also had an official visit to San Diego about a month ago and holds offers from Wazzu and San Francisco. His game kind of reminds me of a taller Drew Buggs. Finish...

Ahmed Ali Leaves Program
Confirmed through Stephen Tsai that Wazzu transfer guard Ahmed Ali has withdrew from the program and returned to his hometown of Toronto to be with family after he received news of some health issue. Tough break for the UH MBB squad. They really could've used a veteran guard to have with Buggs and S...

Re: Wahine volleyball back in the top 25
Good bounce back sweep on the road on the second of a back-to-back against UCSB, who came into the game with the 2nd highest rated rpi at 35.

Re: Wahine volleyball back in the top 25
Although they dropped to 19th in the rankings, they debuted in the first RPI rankings of the season at 14. Remember, Jolie Rasmussen has been out since the West Virginia game, and Brooke Van Sickle got injured in Friday's game and didn't play at all in Saturday's game. Those are two upperclassmen le...

Re: Wahine volleyball back in the top 25
I didn't watch the conference games where they beat LB and CSUN. Would have thought they would have swept because of their opponents records but the games looked close. Can anybody who watched the games possibly explain why? Were the other teams well coached or the other teams better than their rec...

Re: 2019-20 MBB Schedule
Also, just for fun, here's my starting lineup prediction for this season: 1. Ahmed Ali 2. Drew Buggs 3. Samuta Avea 4. Zigmars Raimo 5. Owen Hulland Key guys off the bench: Eddie Stansberry, Justin Hemsley, and Dawson Carper Excited for this season to start already! Go bows! I don't know if I'd pul...

Re: 2019-20 MBB Schedule
Any predictions on how good/bad this team will be? I only know a little about UH B-ball, I watch the games, but really don't know how good each player is. Hard to tell at this point. We lose a lot of scoring last year from Purchase, Stepteau, and Drammeh. But we bring in a lot of new and talented f...

Re: MBB 2020 Recruiting
There should be 3 scholarships available next year. Looks like it's a heavy guard recruiting class. Yup should be 3 available as long as Ahmed Ali is playing this season. Next season we'd have senior Drew Buggs and then (likely) sophomore Justin Webster as the only true guards (I still think Junior...
