SportsHawaii.com interview with Raeceen Anuenue Woolford

Sports Hawaii: Tell us a little about yourself.

Raeceen:  My name is Raeceen Anuenue Woolford. DOB: 5-2-85. I currently work at New Hope Oahu as an Extensions Administrator. My department deals with community service and public relations. I used to be Miss Hawaii 🙂

Sports Hawaii: What are your favorite sports to watch and play?

Raeceen:  I loves me some volleyball- indoor or beach! I really enjoy watching UH sports, volleyball of course and I love tailgating for football games! GO BOWS!!

Sports Hawaii: Do you have any interesting hobbies?

Raeceen:  I really enjoy surfing, hiking, and making jewelry.

Sports Hawaii: Most embarrassing moment as a model?

Raeceen:  Hahaha! I don’t model enough to have one. I guess pretending I’m a model when I’m really not is embarrassing enough in itself. :O/  In everyday life? If  a camera crew could follow me around for a day I’m sure they’d capture some craziness. The tough thing is that I make a fool of myself constantly, therefore it no longer strikes me as embarrassing.

Sports Hawaii: What’s cooler: Zombies, Vampires or Werewolves?

Raeceen:  Umm, I’m scared!

Sports Hawaii: What was the best pick up line you ever heard?  Did it work?

Raeceen:  “I like you. Will you go out with me?” Did it work? Like a charm.

Sports Hawaii: Which personality would you consider to be your type of guy? (Justin Bieber, Zac Efron, JJ Redick, Tom Brady, Will Smith, Jason Statham, Scotty Mccreery, Jaime Fox, Masi Oka, Johnny Depp or Harry Potter)

Raeceen:  Probably a Harry P/ Bieber Feeber combo-kinda-man.

Sports Hawaii: What do you prefer; moon light walk and dinner or partying at a club and stopping at Zippy’s for a bite on the way home?

Raeceen:  I’d prefer an all-day surf sesh followed by an obnoxious helping of Rainbow’s boneless chicken plate with gravy all over and a slush float. Food is the key to my heart.  🙂

Sports Hawaii: What is your take on 2012?

Raeceen:  It’s looking like a great year to be alive!

Sports Hawaii: Which is > Gucci or Louis Vuitton?

Raeceen:  Old-school vintage Louis’!

Sports Hawaii: Which do you prefer watching; America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, America’s Best Dance Crew, America’s Next Great Restaurant, America’s Most Wanted or America’s Got Talent?

Raeceen:  Of all the choices I’ve seen America’s Next Top Model the most. I trip at all the DRAMAS!

Sports Hawaii: Do you like cooking or going out to eat?

Raeceen:  Depends on my mood. I’m a total foodie and love to  hunt for new places to chow down but there’s great satisfaction that accompanies a home-cooked meal. Sometimes I feel like a dining diva in Betty Crocker’s clothing.

Sports Hawaii: What’s your favorite TV show? (all time)

Raeceen:  Modern Family and The Office. I’m obsessed with dry humor (if you couldn’t already gather that through previous answers)  😉

Sports Hawaii: What’s your favorite book? (all time)

Raeceen:  The B-I-B-L-E

Sports Hawaii: Where is your favorite place (location) to visit?

Raeceen:  Big Island

Sports Hawaii:   What was the most difficult hurdle on your journey to Miss Hawaii?

Raeceen:  Hmm… The biggest difficulty on the road to Miss Hawaii was remembering who I was in the midst of the madness. I set a goal to be as true to myself as possible and felt that that was the key to winning the competition. But so often that was compromised as I entered an unfamiliar arena. It seems like everyone has an opinion about your journey and the important thing is to respectfully INGEST everything, but not necessarily DIGEST it all. Staying true to your heart and calling is not always easy, but completely doable!

Sports Hawaii:  What is the most significant door that winning Miss Hawaii opened for you?

Raeceen:  The most significant door opened for me was the chance to meet as many people as I did and create lifetime relationships through that. Truly, the crown is all about serving others and creating lasting relationships in the process.

Sports Hawaii:   How does being an athlete help you spiritually?  Achieving your goals? Everyday life?

Raeceen:  Athletes are rare breeds. Many people are athletic, but not all of them are athletes. This title describes a lifestyle and state of mind. When I was an athlete, it completely shaped the way I lived my life from what I put in my body to the energy I put out. The focus and determination vital to succeeding at the collegiate level well prepared me to succeed in my everyday life. I am extremely strong-willed, determined, and focused (well, most of the time.)  😉

Sports Hawaii:  I heard that you are active with New Hope, please take this opportunity to share any upcoming activities, events etc with the Sports Hawaii Ohana.

Raeceen:  I am very active in my church, I mean, I work there!  🙂  We have tons of events and ministries to engage the congregation and community. Check out:
