SundayJam - yeah, I can't recall when the DB got clocked by St. Juste and taken out of game. But at some point Kemp scored 2 touchdowns and Ursua one.

Ok I checked and DSJ made the hit on the DB in the 3rd quarter. Brown threw TD pass to Ursua in 4th Qtr, then to Kemp in 1st OT and another in 2nd OT.

Gotta admit, I almost turned off the tube to go beach ... glad I didn't.

Hope next week there's 30k plus in Halawa. I'm betting the Warriors come out ready after the disappointment w UNLV.

I've been watching Hawaii football for almost 30 years now. This is the least coverage I've ever witnessed. Could someone please post highlights or anything?!!! How lame our program has become in terms of coverage.

Offense: we surprisingly went with a pass first offense to counter AFs thin secondary. Also I feel like we had to rack up points but not milk the clocks as we know AF would. OL seemed to have done a good job pass protecting. OL also pushed AFs DL back off the LOS but AF did a good job of plugging the holes preventing our RBs from getting 5+ yards. Our WR and Slot were running crossing routes with success on the WR inside slants. Kemp was penalized for a "pick" / moving screen on the defender on the slot in the flats. Dru Brown stepped up in the pocket more than before. He also had some balls batted down as Defenders was in the passing lane. Lakalaka is pure heart second and third efford to get that last TD in regulation. I think this was the first 100+ yrd game for Ursua. That guy is now a key player. A bunch of no calls on pass interference. AF would hit the hawaii receiver before the ball arrived. DSJ knocking out their best DB on the int return may have been big as Kemp was unstoppable later in the game.

Defense: great assignment football especially on the outside runs. Pritchard was getting penetration messing up the timing. Zeno Choi surprised with a key solo tackle. I hope Meffy is ok. Hope Prichard is ok. Need him against NM. Ferris our RS Fr CB got flagged for PI on a few but held his own. AF going 1-10 for 20 yrds means they did what they needed to do. AF QB had accuracy issues and had pressure in his face. Great D.

I'd expect NM and SDSU to run fullback dives on us. I remember SDSU a couple years back would hurt us with those. Need to keep our big bodies healthy. The good thing is if our offense is clicking, that will force passing situations.

Hawaii won this game. If AF hit that FG, they would have stole it. Glad we won!

I was having visions of needing something like that Terry Whitaker hit on the AFA QB near the goal line that popped out the ball which Robert Lan snagged and ran back for a TD. Terry's spirit must have been with the Warriors on that missed AFA FG attempt.

In the end, it was attitude over altitude.
