No Passion for Football - I'm glad he's not at UH (Tuileta)

Post by Palolo_2LA »

Punahou alum Tuileta done playing football at USC

Some fans and NC were like Chicken Little (The Sky is Falling) when Larry went to SC instead of being UH's savior. Where are those fans today when he "retired" from football?

Disappointed I was. Good luck with your life I said.

Either you are a Hawaii Warrior, or you're something else.

It would be difficult to assume that Tuileta would've quit football had he committed to UH. Obviously, standards, demands, money are a lot higher in the bigger conferences.

Seems to be a better VB player. If he was interested in FB, he would have stayed with UH...zero/slim chance of him playing QB at USC.

Isn't he on a VB scholarship and walked on for FB?

Isn't that not allowed?
Even though he was a prefferred walked on to the Football team, he was actively recruited by the USC football program. If he wasn't recruited by the football coaches, but rather just the volleyball coaches he could scholie Vball & walkon to football.

Atleast that's the what I understand by the Bylaw 15.5.7.1

If he gets any scholarship money from volleyball it wouldn't be much. The team splits 5 full scholarships in men's volleyball if I'm not mistaken.

i was only disappointed that he decommitted in as much as i'm always disappointed when any player decommits.

as for him being a qb, i figured we had aaron zwahlen and beau riley, so we really didn't need another freshman qb anyway.

He will probably get financial aid-- grants at USC--they have good financial aid package.

Kind of new he wasn't going to do football at USC, not good enough. Volleyball was the reason for the decommit, wouldn't make UH VB team anyway IMO.

Yeah you're right....UH Men's VB tends to focus on mainland & foreign players. Wahine VB heavily recruits Hawaii players. this is why the wahine's fan attendance dominates. :D :D

You shouldn't hate the guy. He chose volleyball and could make the 2016 Olympics. There've been many like him who were all-stars in FB but chose to play other sports in college.

Not hating on the young man...just happy Uh fans were not duped into the "savior" as NC was saying and then he walks away from UH FB. Looks like a legit VB talent and I am sure he'd make the UH VB team.

Did Chow really call him a "Savior" ?
