Rahal breaks 124-race drought, wins MAVTV 500

FONTANA, Calif. -- An Indy car racing-record 80 lead changes among 14 drivers was the precursor to
a three-lap dash to the finish of the MAVTV 500 following a red flag.

Graham Rahal ended a 124-race winless drought dating to April 6, 2008, on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla.,
and earned his second career victory.

The red flag was displayed on Lap 245 of 250 on the 2-mile Auto Club Speedway oval after contact between
the No. 1 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet driven by Will Power and the No. 14 ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing Honda
of Takuma Sato on the frontstretch.

Hunter-Reay repeats in another Iowa thriller

NEWTON, Iowa – For the first time since the 2006 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, Americans swept the
top three places in a Verizon IndyCar Series race.

Michael Andretti, who followed winner Sam Hornish Jr. and Marco Andretti across the finish line in
that thriller, was the winning team owner July 18 in the Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway.

Reminiscent of the 10-lap duel last July between Ryan Hunter-Reay and Josef Newgarden at Iowa
Speedway, they again engaged in an exciting shootout on the .894-mile oval.

Rahal wins at Mid-Ohio, closes to 9 points of top

LEXINGTON, Ohio -- O-H followed harmoniously by I-O resounded from the crowded Victory Circle at
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and thundered through Thunder Valley. Tens of thousands of spectators
joined Graham Rahal, who was reared in New Albany, Ohio, in celebrating an emphatic home victory
in the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.

Rahal's surge in the second half of the Verizon IndyCar Series season continued with his second win in
five weeks. Rahal, who started 13th in the 90-lap race in the No. 15 Steak 'n Shake Honda for Rahal
Letterman Lanigan Racing, closed to nine points of Verizon IndyCar Series championship front-runner
Juan Pablo Montoya with two races left in the season. There are 10 entries mathematically eligible for
the title.
