Rosberg beats Hamilton to victory in Austria

The world champion, also handicapped by a 5s time penalty for crossing the white line on the pit exit, took the flag 3.8s behind Rosberg,
while Felipe Massa scored his first and Williams’ second podium of the season in third.

With Hamilton slow off the line, Rosberg snatched an advantage he only surrendered briefly during the single pit stops, and he controlled
the race with ease despite late worries about a serious front tyre vibration. Hamilton pushed hard, but even his penalty made no difference
to the outcome; this was a day on which nobody could live with Rosberg.

FIA Thursday press conference - Great Britain

July 2, 2015

DRIVERS - Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Jenson Button (McLaren), Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), Marcus Ericsson (Sauber),
Pastor Maldonado (Lotus), Will Stevens (Marussia)

PRESS CONFERENCE

Valtteri, why don’t we start with you? You finished second here last year from, I think, 14th on the grid - equal best result
so far in Formula One, your finish. Is this one of your favourite tracks?

Valtteri Bottas: Well, it’s one of them, definitely. It’s one of these old school tracks and really high speed, so it’s always
really fun to drive here. I think it should be good for our car as well, like we saw last year. We had some new bits for Austria
and I think they should work maybe slightly better here, so looking forward to the weekend.

Hamilton weathers the storm for superb home victory

Lewis Hamilton won the 2015 Formula 1 British Grand Prix after an inspired drive in changeable conditions at
Silverstone - his third triumph on home soil, matching the record of compatriots Jim Clark and Nigel Mansell.

The world champion saw off the threat of early leaders Williams, and then made an inspired pit call when rain
hit late in the race to ensure victory over Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg and the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel.

It was Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas who burst through from the second row at the start to head Hamilton and Rosberg.

After an early safety-car intervention following a collision involving the Lotuses and McLarens, Hamilton tried to
pass Massa for the lead but instead lost a position to Bottas, and the Finn put the Brazilian under real pressure.
Hamilton hung on to them and Rosberg kept a watching brief.

Lewis Hamilton wins British GP brilliantly after late rain

The two Williams jumped into the lead at the start

Lewis Hamilton battled through a bad start and late-race rain to win an action-packed
British Grand Prix

Hamilton had to pass both Williams after losing the lead off the line and second place at a re-start following
an early safety car.

But the Mercedes driver fought back to take the lead at the first pit stops.

Rain made for a chaotic end to the race but Hamilton came through to win from team-mate Nico Rosberg
and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

Felipe Massa took fourth ahead of Williams team-mate Valtteri Bottas, Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat was sixth,
Force India's Nico Hulkenberg claimed seventh and the second Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen came eighth.

The world champion's fifth win of the season - extending his championship lead to 17 points - was greeted
with roars of delight from the capacity 140,000 fans.
