Oh boy, when it rumbles it sure shakes the skeletons from the rafters! Wonder how the parents will like this move. From an educational stand point this should be great. Athletics? I know we're supposed to be talkin' St. Louis athletics, but Pat Hamamoto, good from an educational stand point? Please, bruddah. I have been a public school teacher for the past 10 years and would like to know exactly what she has accomplished as head of the DOE. Lower test scores, no change whatsoever to the zero accountability mentality of our entire public education system. Why St. Louis? WHY?!!! Because she went to Sacred Hearts? Why bring this purveyor of public school culture onto your campus? The kids entering St. Louis are trying to leave behind "educators" such as Mrs. Hamamoto, not welcome her as their new principal. Oh yeah, I forgot, is that furlough Friday thing still going on?

The school is not hiring her based on what she did as head of DOE.
It has more to do with her experiences as a teacher and a former principle. And from what I hear, she has outstanding credentials in those fields.
Luckily for her she only has to focus on one school...not 250 plus.

Word is Cal Lee will be AD & Delbert Tengan will be back as Head Coach....I don't want to set off a firestorm of comments, but heard it from a source close to the situation.

That's bad news for Punahou and Kamehameha. Does anyone know if St. Louis is returning as much talent as their Division I counterparts? Because the likelihood, on a talent scale, is that Punahou and Kamehameha will again be top dogs in the ILH.

St.Louis parents were told last week that a new athletic director would be named within the next 30 days. But because Spring Football is starting up, an "athletic administration team" has been set up to decide on who the head football coach will be. The new athletic director will be responsible for hiring all other coaches.

Afoa and Hao are well qualified for their jobs and class acts. Afoa did everything right including requiring coaches to be certified and even brought in professionals to promote positive coaching. He supported all sports and attend competition for all the sport under his watch. He did his job and attended all the meeting an AD suppose to attend on behalf of St. Louis. St. Louis was lucky to have these individuals who gave their heart and soul to the school and programs and kids that they served. Who on earth would want to step into the shoes of these qualified individuals after the way St. Louis handled treated them?

All the Fathers of returning varsity football players 2. Half the mothers of returning varsity football players 3. 4/5's of the pop warner coaches on Oahu 4. 3/4's of Hao's staff 5. All of the St. Louis JV and Int. staffs 6. Delbert Tengan 7. 1/2 to 3/4 of all head coaches in the OIA and all St. Louis alums coaching in the OIA For Afoa's position ((not necessarily in any sort of meaningful order): 1. Delbert Tengan 2. "Rand the Man" 3. 87% of the patrons at the St. Louis Alumni clubhouse on any given saturday night

Re: St. Louis Rumblings get too loud to ignore - Reardon
Give me a break … you must be one of those dreamers too or a drunk that has nothing better to do than to hang out at the prestigious Saint Louis Clubhouse. And if the Saint Louis Alumni Association is so powerful … just tell me how much money they raise from their alumni? Just a bunch of old cronies that are looking to self serve themselves rather than really give back to the school. Maybe Saint Louis should poll their alumni on schools that they would consider sending their own children, if they can afford private tuition. I’d bet St. Louis is on the bottom of the list.
Didn’t Saint Louis have an issue with lead paint a while back. A field house that was rusting away and alumni bragging that if it wasn’t for the termites holding hands that the school would fall down. Would be nice if St. Louis had a swimming pool but that’s been talked about for 40-years. The football field is rock hard and disintegrating into pieces that the players breath into their lungs. The field house has chunks of asbestos like retardant or soundproofing that falls and flies in the air all over the chain fenced weight room.
Oh, yah … does the AD get his own private parking garage … winner! His own private office with blue exterior carpeting on the gypboard wall, under a donated airplane hanger. And those bleachers look like the ones that were at UH … was that a donation too! I think St. Louis will be lucky to get another football championship

So should we be expecting an announcement early next week?
