For a family vacation to Hawaii, Jeremy Moussa toured the island, snorkeled, ate local food and … came away with a scholarship from the Warriors.
Moussa, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback from Roosevelt High in Corona, Calif., told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he made a verbal commitment to play for the Warriors in 2018. Moussa made his decision on Monday, but wanted to wait until after his family finished their week-long stay before making the official announcement.
“I love the coaching staff,” Moussa said. “I really connected with (quarterbacks) coach (Craig) Stutzmann and coach Rolo. He played quarterback here. He knows what to do.”
Moussa also received offers from San Jose State, Nevada, UC Davis and Dartmouth. He said he wanted decide now so he could focus on his senior season. He is expected to ink a letter of intent on Dec. 20, the first day of the NCAA’s new early-signing period.
“I grew up in Southern California my whole life,” Moussa said. “It’s kind of a different experience seeing a different part of the world. I like that opportunity.”
