Gilmore Girls Limited-Series Revival Set at Netflix — This Is Not a Drill

THIS JUST IN: We’re getting those final four words!

Sources confirm that Netflix has closed a deal with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival of Gilmore Girls
penned by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino.

Although negotiations with the cast are only now beginning, I’m told all of the major players — most notably
Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson — are expected back for the continuation.
Additionally, per multiple insiders, the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies.

Reps for Warner Bros. and Netflix declined to comment for this story.

And I repeat: This is not a drill.

Here’s Why the Gilmore Girls Revival Has Such an Unusual Structure

When news broke last week that Netflix was considering reviving Gilmore Girls, one very interesting detail stuck out. This revival wouldn’t follow the standard
10-to-13-episode structure of most Netflix series. Instead, we’d be getting four 90-minute mini-movies, and now new inside information reveals why.

Are You Prepared For The Revival? See The Cast of ‘Gilmore Girls’ Then & Now

Image

Unless you’ve been hibernating under a rock, then you know that Netflix is in talks with Warner Brothers to revive the beloved mother/daughter
drama Gilmore Girls. Though Netflix is still negotiating with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and main stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, it
looks like things might be a go. If everything goes according to plan, Netflix will release four 90-minute mini-movies that we be broken up for each
season from the calendar year. BTW, there will also be an eight or nine year jump. Until we know more, see what the cast the cast of Gilmore Girls
then and now.

Hey Netflix, there's another Gilmore Girls alum ready to sign on for the reboot that we cannot believe
(and are so grateful) is actually happening! Empire co-creator (and recent Golden Globe nominee)
Danny Strong, a.k.a. Paris Geller's one true love, Doyle McCaster, tells E! News that he is willing and
ready to participate in the upcoming reboot.

The reunion, which will reportedly consist of four 90-minute mini-movies that span the four seasons
in a year (winter, spring, summer, or fall, yo!), is in the early stages, but the entire cast is expected
to return.

BY Corey Chichizola

Gilmore Girls fans everywhere seemed to win the lottery when it was announced that the show would be
producing new episodes for Netflix. This excitement only increased after a handful of the original cast
members were confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming reboot. One of those cast members is
Scott Patterson, who played diner owner and love interest for Lorelai, Luke Danes through the original
seven seasons of Gilmore Girls. Patterson recently took to his social media to express his feelings when
returning to Luke’s baseball cap and plaid shirt:

Gilmore Girls Revival: Kelly Bishop Teases Widow Emily's 'Manic' State, Richard's Immense 'Presence'

Kelly Bishop‘s re-entry into Stars Hollow last Friday hit a snag.

At the inaugural table read for Netflix’s four-part Gilmore Girls revival, the East Coast-based actress —
who was reciting her lines via speaker phone from her home in New Jersey, as she had done during much
of the show’s original seven-year run — experienced some connectivity issues.

“Unfortunately, there was a time lag, like when you watch one of those reporters in Afghanistan,” she explains. “It
had never happened before, and I’ve done a lot of remote table reads. So that certainly slowed down the process.”

Lauren Graham says that fans of "Gilmore Girls" have reason to be excited for the Netflix revival.

Calling "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" "incredibly satisfying," she said that she couldn't really give away plot points if she tried.

After all, she noted with a smile, "our show was never really about spoiler alerts."

Scott D. Pierce: Be prepared for jerks to spoil ‘Gilmore Girls’

If you're a "Gilmore Girls" fan and Netflix subscriber and you won't have time to sit and watch six
hours of it on Friday, Nov. 25, you'd better stay off social media.

We're finally going to find out The Final Four Words that series creator/writer/producer
Amy Sherman-Palladino repeatedly said she planned to use to end the 2000-07 series.

(It didn't work out that way, because she left the show in a contract dispute with Warner Bros.
before the seventh and final season.)

Lauren Graham was "surprised" at the final four words of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life"

Finally, after all these years, we’re going to learn the ~last four words~ of Gilmore Girls.

These last four words are a HOT TOPIC in Stars Hollow. As the story goes, Gilmore Girls showrunner, Amy Sherman-Palladino,
had a perfect exchange planned to close out the series, but she left at the end of Season 6, while the show continued on to
Season 7. She took these words with her, and though it’s come up a lot of times before, she’s never told a soul exactly what
these four words are.

That’s all about to change with the Netflix revival, A Year in the Life. We’ll finally hear these last four words, and Sherman-Palladino
is begging us not to fast-forward to the end of the last episode, “Fall.” These four words will be worth the wait. And according to
Lauren Graham, they’re not what she was expecting.

Glmore Girls: A Year in the Life has been on Netflix for a few weeks now and it seems we’ve analyzed every angle of it — from Rory’s
terrible interview skills to Petal the pig — but there’s one thing we’ve been wondering: how do Rory and Lorelai have suchflawless
makeup all the time? The Gilmore girls live famously unhealthy lives and live in chilly New England but somehow always look like they’ve
just returned from a relaxing weekend in Cabo. Such rosy cheeks! Such perfect complexions! We need some answers, stat.
