Baby elephant takes issue with its trunk — and it’s beyond cute

Baby elephant struggles to cope with the long object on its face.

Among the concerns of baby elephants – at least one, apparently – is what to do with the long, pendulous objects dangling from their faces.

The accompanying footage, captured in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, shows a newborn elephant crossing a road with a breeding herd
of larger elephants, which have long since grown accustomed to their trunks.

This 9-year-old girl who completed a Navy SEAL-inspired race could crush you

By Cindy Boren

Just how ridiculously fit is Milla Bizzotto, a 53-pound 9-year-old from South Florida?

She’s so fit and that she recently completed the Battlefrog race BFX24 — a 24-hour U.S. Navy SEAL-inspired
obstacle course that requires participants to race 36 miles, swim eight kilometers and conquer 25 obstacles
that include a rope climb, crawling under barbed wire and climbing a 12-foot wall for six laps. She slept between
2 and 6 a.m. and counts the hardest part of the race to have been the “Platinum Rig,” in which participants swing
between ropes, rings and monkey bars without touching the ground. All of which leaves one question: Why would a
tutu-loving 9-year-old want to do this?

The answer is simple. She was being bullied at school.

First she showed off her baby bump in an excellent photo series. Now she's showing off her babies.

Lilica — the mama dog that had a fabulous maternity photo shoot — has given birth to five healthy and adorable puppies.

What else has she graced us with, you ask? Another photo shoot, of course.

The tan puppy was just a couple of days old when its mother was fatally struck by a car in Detroit.

That landed Bobby, the tiny Chihuahua pup, in a shelter, where workers quickly placed him with the
only nursing mother available – a cat named Gwen. And, as shown by photos and a video, Bobby
managed to fit right into his new feline family, nestling right up to his new mom and her litter of
kittens and taking his turns at getting mother's milk.

The Boy Who Found His Father's Ghost Waiting in an Old Racing Game

A deceased father left behind a ghost car in the Xbox game RalliSport Challenge. How his son found it is the
most heartwarming video game story you've ever heard.

In 2014, we wrote about a son who found his father's ghost car in an Xbox racing game ten years after he passed away. The heartwarming
gearhead story has just been turned into a short film called Player Two, and it'll raise the hair on the back of your neck.

The son and father played a game called RalliSport Challenge, but after the father passed away, the son couldn't bring himself to return to
the game. When he finally pulled it out years later, though, he discovered something amazing: His father's ghost car, lapping the track,
re-enacting the very last lap time his dad set in the game before his death.

Raven was in no hurry to pick out a new best friend at the shelter.

After all, this was a lifetime commitment. Raven was still a puppy. And last August, she was choosing a kitten at the animal shelter in
Lubbock, Texas — a kitten she could grow old with.

This Mailman Does the Sweetest Thing for Dog Who Loves Delivering Mail

Dogs have a sense of childlike wonder and the ability to get excited about some of life’s simplest pleasures that is only comparable to that
of a little human. We see a ball flying through the air, they see the Olympic games. We come home after a long day, dogs can barely keep it
together when we walk through the door. We don’t blame them. Dogs who are lucky enough to have a home, usually have a pretty cushy life.
They get to nap whenever they want, there are always toys to play with, and of course, they have the companionship of their human guardian.
Without any responsibility, dogs are able to take joy in the little things.

Incredible Face on Pup Who Was Just Adopted Shows What it Means to Adopt Not Shop

By Kat Smith

If you’ve ever adopted a furry family member from a shelter, then you understand how easy it is to love your new animal companion like
they’re your very own human child — and you know how quickly they fall in love with you. And if you’ve ever adopted a dog, chances are
that you can recall the unbridled enthusiasm your new canine companion expressed at getting to leave the shelter and start their new life
with a complete stranger.

That immediate sense of unconditional love and trust can’t be matched. This photo of Imgur user JackScagnetti1 and their new puppy
on the ride home perfectly captures that feeling. Even though the photo of this handsome pup and his new guardian was snapped not
long after the adoption took place, there’s no mistaking the expression of love in his eyes.

Scientists Accidentally Discover Efficient Process to Turn CO2 Into Ethanol

The process is cheap, efficient, and scalable, meaning it could soon be used to remove large amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere.

Scientists at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee have discovered a chemical reaction to turn CO2 into ethanol, potentially creating
a new technology to help avert climate change. Their findings were published in the journal ChemistrySelect.

The researchers were attempting to find a series of chemical reactions that could turn CO2 into a useful fuel, when they realized the first step
in their process managed to do it all by itself. The reaction turns CO2 into ethanol, which could in turn be used to power generators and vehicles.
