Re: Lego
This Incredible Full Scale Lego X-Wing Is the Largest Model In History
By Jesus Diaz
May 23, 2013
This is truly unbelievable: Lego has built a 1:1 scale model of the X-Wing fighter using an astounding 5,335,200 bricks! It's as big as the real thing, capable of fitting the real Luke Skywalker—and Porkins.
As you can see in these exclusive Gizmodo images and video, it reproduces the official $60 Lego 9493 X-Wing Fighter. But instead of being 560-pieces and a few inches long, this model uses more than five million pieces and it's 11-feet tall and 43 feet long, with a 44-foot wingspan. Just like the real X-Wing—and 42 times the size of the commercial Lego set.

LEGO fan creates 5-foot U.S.S. Enterprise with 18,000 bricks
by Kevin Melrose
February 3, 2015
Although he wasn’t seeking out new life and new civilizations, LEGO enthusiast Chris Melby was indeed on a mission: to build a replica of the U.S.S. Enterprise from J.J. Abrams’ rebooted Star Trek franchise.
Eight months, 18,000 bricks and “tons of coin” later, he accomplished just that, with a starship that measures 68 inches long, 29 inches wide, and stands about 32 inches tall on its wooden base. More impressive still, Melby found a way to do it while hiding all of the signature LEGO studs. (The solution? Layers.)

Lego Makes Everything Better—Even a Prosthetic for Kids
By MARGARET RHODES
July 28, 2015
A new prosthetic arm dubbed Iko can be endlessly customized with Lego pieces so that kids can make it whatever they want it to be. CARLOS ARTURO TORRES
IT JUST GOT easier for kids with prosthetic limbs to go fully bionic—with a little help from Lego. A new prosthetic arm dubbed Iko can
be endlessly customized with Lego pieces so that kids can make it whatever they want it to be.
The field of prosthetics has seen significant advances in recent years. Designers have harnessed new technologies like 3-D printing to
make prosthetics more beautiful, fashionable, or waterproof. Making prosthetics more accessible and expressive empowers the people
who wear them. Iko aims to help kids overcome the stigma of having a prosthetic by making it fun to wear.

Watch ‘Jurassic World’ Recreated With Legos In Just 90 Seconds
by Hollywood.com Contributor
Some very patient individuals over at The Brotherhood Workshop took two of the most successful film of the past few years, The Lego
Movie and Jurassic World, and combined them to create a 90-second hybrid. We’ll ignore the possible Chris Pratt infatuation for now,
and instead focus on how cool this video is.

That's A Big LEGO Star Destroyer

Star Wars’ giant, 3730 feet long Venator-class Star Destroyer, a ship mostly used during the Clone Wars, compressed into a similarly huge
6 feet long LEGO version by builder Alec_D.
Gotta love all the tiny turbolaser turrets and the engine units, very nicely designed.

This Lego Ferrari F40 Time-Lapse Build Takes Less Than One Minute
by Travis Okulski
December 11, 2015
We’re Lego nuts around these parts. Why wouldn’t we be? Anything that lets us build our favorite cars (or
scenes from Star Wars) out of amazing blocks is great with us.
For this one, the fine folks over at Hagerty got their hands on a new Lego Ferrari F40 and did a pretty great
brick-by-brick time lapse of the build. And this time, there are no hands involved. The F40 just seems to rise
from the ashes.

Star Wars Fan Spends a Year Building 7,500 Piece LEGO Millennium Falcon Replica

The Star Wars LEGO sets are a blast. There's something for everyone, from small vehicles and play sets to the larger
model-quality vehicles that fans like displaying around their homes.
And then there's the fan-made creations. Whether these are recreations of entire battle scenes, massive Rebel bases,
or revamped vehicles, fan creations are often hyper-detailed examples of creativity that change the way us amateurs
look at our boxed up sets. Fan Marshal Banana decided he loved the new look of the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars:
The Force Awakens, and wanted his LEGO version to look as close to the film as possible. The official set contains
1,329 pieces - this fan's contains around 7,500.
His Falcon took about a year, and measures 32 inches long and 21 inches wide.

This is the massive $250 'Star Wars' Lego set every fan will want

This year, Lego will release 25 new "Star Wars" sets. I checked out a large collection of them recently at New York Toy Fair. Not only will the
new sets reimagine scenes from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," but a few of the sets will also bring a few iconic scenes from the original
"Star Wars" trilogy to life.
One of the coolest — and most expensive — sets that will be released May 1 will be a giant re-creation of the snowy Hoth Echo Base from
"Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back." Lego shared a bunch of images from the upcoming "Assault on Hoth" set with Tech
Insider. Keep reading to see what comes inside it.
