Deadly Flu Outbreak
No, it's not too late to get a flu shot
Packed emergency rooms, deaths as flu hits California hard
It's flu season — and this could be the worst one Hawaii sees in years

Re: Deadly Flu Outbreak
Flu can be deadly, or at least very painful. I can't remember the last time that I got the flu, maybe high school, but the only good thing about it was that because I didn't have an appetite, I lost weight. Flash forward to today, I could sure lose the weight loss, but without the threat of death or the pain of having the flu. Got my flu shot, just in case one of those strains will protect me. Still could use the weight loss though.

I had to hospitalize my mother in law because of this flu....it seemed a simple cough....and all of a sudden......she's fine now, resting at home. This one is scary.....don't take this lightly.My3Cats wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 2:06 pm Flu can be deadly, or at least very painful. Exactly ..... Get the flu shot ASAP if you haven't done so already and don't wait too long to see a doctor if you're not feeling well.Mr.EDGE808 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 4:50 am I had to hospitalize my mother in law because of this flu....it seemed a simple cough....and all of a sudden......she's fine now, resting at home. One of my co-workers was diagnosed with the flu and she was out of work for a week.

Re: Deadly Flu Outbreak
Scary stuff but on the bright side...at least it aint the Spanish Influenza. That killed 20-50 million people worldwide one hundred years ago.
BTW, the Spanish Flu got started in Kansas...not Spain.

Re: Deadly Flu Outbreak
Hawaii is the only state not badly affected by this year's deadly flu outbreak.

These two brothers died in a wealthy part of California. Although they were living in a trailer park which probably did not have adequate heating.
