why wasn't colt offered a scholarship?
why wasn't colt offered a scholarship?
colt was a 4 star recruit.
he is one of the top returning qb's in the nation.
jj believes he will be a first round pick.
the coaches knew he was going to be a great player before he even took a snap at uh.
many fans were also confident that colt would be our starting qb even before he took a snap.
so my question is why didn't we offer a scholarship last year?
think about it.
we nearly lost him to san jose, who was willing to offer.
it all worked out in the end and i guess that's all that matter.... but....
wow, that could have been one of the biggest mistakes uh coaches ever made.

Yeah, I thought we had already committed our available scholarships and Jones is not the kinda of coach that would pull someone else’s scholarship so he could give it to someone else no matter how many stars he had. Having to earn it is a good way to go it measures how much you really want it. You could probably say the same for D. Kelly too.

I like the two-way street approach, actually.
"Show me what you can do and I'll make sure that you're taken care of."
When someone has to "earn" something by doing something, up front, or first, it seems to mean more, don't you think?
It's just that not many coaches can "sell" themselves and that philosophy like Coach Jones can and does.
This, in my opinion, is just one more thing that sets Coach Jones apart from other coaches.
