Signed 13, had three gray shirts (Panoke, Ward, Washington) and plus Green and Ward counts against this year. So have 7 to give. Got two commitments (Abbott and Hilborn) so can give 5 more.

Yup. I suspect a surprise or two on Wednesday, and the rest of the offers are either given to walk-ons who've earned it or held over for the next cycle.

With this latest commitments by Allen & Matthews, now have 3 more scholies left to give,,,,but wouldn't be surprised if there were 2 or even 3 or so more grayshirt HS signees (like last year).

I feel real good about this recruiting class. They just seem faster. The defensive signees appear to be made for the attacking style of the Batoon Platoon. With the "new" redshirt rule, a bunch of them will get some action this Fall to show us what they have. Can't wait.

We have some real athletic quarterbacks. Looks like they all can run.

Uh will be staked at WR position, especially @ slot. Super excited because the guys who don't start will improve special teams. The addition of big and quick outside guys will open up the middle for the slots. Reminiscent of the good ole days with Leile or Rivers on the outside that caused safeties to drop deeper and created voids in coverage.

I thought our recruiting class was decent. I was surprised to see us at the bottom of the MWC recruiting rankings.

Rankings are based on cumulative evaluations of the players. Higher stars don't equate/guarantee these guys being better players down the road...just a higher likelihood. However, that's all nullified by players who fit in your system, are coachable and driven to get better.

Also I think that evaluations come from participation in the higher visibility clinics, which cost a lot of money to attend, and which would have the right people in attendance to do the evaluations. I don't believe that stars are awarded based on games played because you can't get scouts out to all high school games around the country.
