A prolific quarterback from Utah told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he is joining the University of Hawaii football team.
“I just want to get out there and play ball,” said Boone Abbott, a senior at American Fork High. “That’s the plan.”
Abbott, who is 6 feet 2 and 178 pounds, said he will put his commitment in writing on Feb. 6, the first day of the NCAA’s spring-semester signing period for football prospects.
In 14 games this past season, Abbott threw for 4,438 yards and 47 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.
He received inquiries from several schools, including Utah and and Brigham Young, but favored Hawaii following a recruiting visit in December.
Looks to have a quick delivery, good pocket presence and touch with ball placement. He's also coming from a 4 wide offense, which will help him acclimate. In a pass happy O, you need all the good arms you can stock up. JJ had stacks of QBs. #NextQB
Be humble and confident in yourself and all things you do.
Boone has some great stats. JT Daniels is a 5 star commit to USC with 4132 yards passing for 2018 from Mater Dei. Boone has 4438 yards although not playing the same caliber as Mater Dei. Every year Mater Dei and De LaSalle have the better programs in California. It would be interesting if he goes baseball and football as his fastball was clocked at 90. Great potential!
