odds favor hawaii in road game with san jose state

Post by st808 »

espn has hawaii with a 45% chance of winning at san jose state.

odds have hawaii favored at anywhere from -8.5 to -13.5 points.

when was the last time odds favored hawaii in a road game?

Hmmm so ESPN has us at 55% losing, while Vegas has us favored by as much as almost 2 TDs? :-?

I always look at the YouTube video and laugh. It's about some guy who bet the house on Hawaii beating Army even though they were a touchdown underdog.

I'm just looking for Hawaii to play a tough game against an unknown SJSU team that has played some pretty good teams. I hope Hawaii stays disciplined and comes out firing on defense.

SJ game will be as much as a home game for a road game. Lots of Locals. Larry Beil came by one time.

Last time I went down there, Dana McLemore, Jesse Sapolu and others showed up. Not quite a home game but still a lot more fun than a Fresno game. Albert Holmes, ex UH running back is in the Bay Area as well.

It was the last game I think, either RK (or RM) said this will be a Neil Everett highlight. I think that is true. Neil Everett was "only" in Hawaii for 15 years. When ever he talks about UH sports, you can see it you can hear it. Mainland is his life, but Hawaii is a special place for him too. I find it interesting how Hawaii touches people and stay with them.

SJSU is probably the best road game for a UH fan to attend. Great tailgate festivities, cheap airfare, easy game to get tickets to, lots of hawaii fans, not a lot of SJSU fans. the stadium is small, but unpretentious. it feels like a really important high school game in a way when you are at that stadium, but in a good way. going to that game doesn't feel like a chore like it does at so many other stadiums.

In 2005, when UH was in SJ, there were a lot of fights in my area of the stadium. I thought it was a Raiders game which I only went to one but lots of stories. I always went to Candlestick to watch the 9ers much better crowd. I think they stopped serving beer after that season.

Dick Tomey is forever UH. For true Arizona fans (or not), Dick Tomey is still the best (most winningest) coach in their history. You can't argue with numbers. True Arizona fans do call Tomey their own.

Does San Jose State claim Dick Tomey at all? He wasn't bad, but I don't recall anything stood out during his time with SJ. True, the old coach was past his prime, but still...

Dick Tomey was the winningest coach until JJ got more wins in 2006. Loved his trick plays although most of the time they never worked.
