It's interesting that my post generated so much interest. I guess it may make it more fun to watch the game if you win a pie or something if the score you pick matches the final score. Have fun at the game.ubercow wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 6:11 pmThat's fine, feel free not to post/follow this thread if you think it promotes something you don't like.shrek2 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 1:11 pmPersonally, I don't like this post and maybe its just me but it promotes gambling as a primary objective to the game as opposed to the sport of football itself. It's okay to post it as a note on a bigger post but it just makes me feel uncomfortable that gambling is why we watch football. Let's talk football.
I personally don't think it promotes gambling, it's literally put in your wishful thinking score, and if you're right, win a small prize. You could even previously win a pie from one of the forum members if you guessed the attendance thread correctly. I don't think any gambling chronics were created from the 10+ years these threads have been going on, it's just a fun way to follow how your team did the previous week. (maybe pie chronics tho, people kept asking for pies for _years_)

I understand and respect your position. I am not a gambler. But if it was legal, I probably would bet fifty or hundred bucks on a parlay card with some obscure games. I definitely would be watching more NCAA
football. Don’t see how it could be bad for the game to have more people tuning in to the sport. Hawaii definitely gets extra attention for being the last game on the card.

I guess it makes the game more fun for a lot of fans to get joy out of watching UH football along with a prize to win if their numbers match. It's not the numbers game as described in the Wikipedia description below, but a fun thing.UnBiasFan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 7:29 pmI understand and respect your position. I am not a gambler. I can recall a friend of mine doing a tv NFL game, and he just sidestepped the issue to predicting the score of a future game. He was once a 6 year all-pro and 4 time Superbowler. It was just his style never to comment on future game scores because to him it was food for gamblers. Maybe I picked up some of his feelings and I apologize if I offended people with my views.

I like the Kaepernick bet by Nike. I predict a score of 60 to 58 in favor of Hawaii just because. I also take back everything I've ever said negative about Rolovich. Dude has exceeded my expectations already this year.
