Road to the HI Bowl Thread - after game 11
Re: Road to the HI Bowl Thread - after game 2
I think if the team stays relatively healthy... keep doing what they are doing... the next four should be wins. The toughest two games they had to face on the front end of the season are now in the History Books. The Wyoming game should "in theory" should also a win... at home, with a bit of pay-back involved emotionally (get the damn Trophy back!!!...). That would put them at 7-0. Any wins after that is simply Gravy, and a chance to go bowlin' on the mainland. Lose the Wyoming game... it gets tough. The last five games are problematic. BYU is simply going to be tough.

Yeah, this Rice, @Army, Duquesne, @San Jose, Wyoming stretch gives UH real 6-1/7-0 potential. It sounds insane given early season projections, but it's more than possible. There does appear to be a late season wall UH might be hit when the team's with real defenses start to show up. @BYU, Nevada, @Fresno, USU, UNLV, @SDSU. Like, damn...every one of those games is loseable. I'm confident they can pull out 2/3 of Nevada, USU, and UNLV though.
The team can't look ahead, but we can! Imagine UH being 6-1 or 7-0 going into Provo. That's the kine stuff you remember for years.

3-0, 4 more wins to the Hawaii bowl. However playing against rice proves no game is going to be easy including Duquesne!
Next 4 games
@army
Vs Duquesne
@SJSU
Vs Wyoming

These guys think Hawaii can have a 9 win season. After a tough win last night against the Owls and a 3-0 start it looks very promising. Second half of the season will of course will be the toughest. We shall see, prior to the season I would have been happy with 7 wins. Now I have higher expectations.

Happy to see D improving. There are still glaring coaching blunders - zone read on your own 1 yard line, three runs in a row? Play calling took a step back last night.
I'm anxious for the SDSU game since they like usually have another great RB. If UH beat them, I'll break out the champagne. Also. BYU has better talent top to bottom on their roster and all things equal, the bigger , better man usually wins. 9- 4 or 10 - 3 record is achievable.

I think we'll get in but still got some tough games. BYU beat #6 Wisconsin, Nevada beat Oregon State, San Jose hung tough with Oregon. San Jose and Nevada were two that I was hoping for wins.

Still get chance!

Yep but it won’t be easy. We really need to win the next 2 games. We need the momentum with the teams coming up after that. Still it is possible. Just need to stay healthy.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

A junior high squad from Niihau could beat us as long as Vigen is our OC. His game plan is so predictable it's sad. 1st Down: run up the middle. 2nd Down: run up the middle. 3rd Down: pass. 4th Down: Punt. REPEAT!

Re: Road to the HI Bowl Thread - after game 4
Just wondering, can any team, play in more than one bowl?
Let's say UH get an invite to the Fiesta Bowl (dream big), can UH also play in the Hawaii Bowl?
In other words, Hawaii Bowl is strictly for UH. Always UH vs. Someone. Bowls are about money. I'm sure players (and fans) don't mind playing in one more game. For some, especially the Seniors, they would love just one-more-time.
Or do you think some players would opt out? Meaning, if UH went to the Holiday Bowl, and won, would Cole McDonald sit out the Hawaii Bowl, because there is a chance he could get hurt? If there was no other invite, of course he would play in the Hawaii Bowl.
