Updates. WRs Jackson and Thompson have committed to Eastern Michigan. OT Wade committed to Hawaii. Also updated previous verbal commitments of S McConico and WR Panoke to Hawaii.

JC
WR Arthur Jackson (American River College, Sacramento, CA) – a very dangerous receiver. OV 1/19-21 (COMMITTED TO EASTERN MICHIGAN)
WR Michael Thompson (Modesto JC, Modesto, CA) – 6-4 WR. California JC triple jump champion. OV 1/19-21. (COMMITTED TO EASTERN MICHIGAN)
S Manase Time (Golden West College, Huntington Beach, CA)
OL Alex Dalpe (Long Beach City College) – On OV 1/19-21. 3 to play 3.
JC OL Gene Pryor, 6-3, 305, College of Sequioas - will be on OV 1/26-28
JC OL Ernest Moore, 6-8, 305, CC of San Fransisco - has been offered

High School
C/G Solo Vaipulu (Centennial HS, Corona, CA) – Played in Polynesian Bowl. Will be back for his OV 1/26-28.
DT Aaron Faumui (Kapolei) – highest rated uncommitted DL recruit from Hawaii. OV to Virginia 1/26-28.
OL Alama Uluave (Punahou) – highest rated uncommitted OL recruit from Hawaii. Longshot at best.
S Jovan McConico (Garfield HS, Seattle, WA) (COMMITTED TO HAWAII)
OT Thomas Wade (San Clemente HS, San Clemente, CA) – On OV 1/19-21 (COMMITTED TO HAWAII)
LB Darien Butler (Narbonne HS, CA) On OV to Arizona State 1/26.
WR Jonah Panoke (St. Louis) (COMMITTED TO HAWAII)

Also don’t be surprised if there’s a Power 5 OL transfer signed.
Can't believe the two JC guys decided on Eastern Michigan over Hawaii.
I hope we get Dalpe instead of Moore. Better athletically and looks like he has a mean streak.

The two JC receivers going to Eastern Michigan surprises me too. Dalpe is the better get of all the JC OL we've offered.

Getting Vaipulu and Faumui is very important for the future of the OL and DL. With Santiago tranfering, getting Manase Time is much more important now.

I'm hoping for some surprises that we don't know about yet.

Eastern Michigan had a decent team last year. Although they finished 5-7, they lost six of their seven games by 7 points or less. Three of those games were overtime losses. One of those losses was a 1 point road loss to an Army team that finished 10-3. The game they lost by more than seven points was a 12 point road loss to a Central Michigan team that finished 8-5. Don't discount the Eagles.

Also Hawaii has had 6 losing seasons in 7 years and no longer a highly desirable mid major team when considering we are the bottom dwellers in the MWC.

1 winning season, 2016, isn't enough to land mid to top recruits. Thus losing guys to Eastern Michigan, UNLV, San Jose St, New Mexico, New Mexico St, etc no longer surprises me

Updating the list to reflect Pryor and Faumui committing. That brings the total to 5 verbals and I think we can sign 8 sign on 2/7. If all that have committed sign, there are 3 more to go. I think we still have a need for 1 OL, 1 CB and 1 S. At this point, I no longer believe we'll sign a Power 5 OL transfer and it's looking like Vaipulu will be our last OL commit. But there may be a surprise or two.

Updating the list to reflect Manase Time committing. That brings the total to 6 verbals leaving 2 more to go. I think we still have a need for 1 OL and 1 CB or DT.

Solo Vaipulu will be making his announcement on Saturday and hopefully will be our last OL commit.

I can't name the player, but there may be a surprise commit between now and the 2/7 signing date.

Solo Vaipulu committed as anticipated and the list has been updated.

Stephen Tsai does not believe McConico will be signing confirming rumors. So that leaves at least 2 more initials to go. There's still the need for one more JC OL and a DT or CB.

JC OL Max Charite visited this weekend and has been added to the list. I believe we waiting on Alex Dalpe, who went on OV to Cincinnati this weekend and our backups to him are Charite and Moore.

It appears we are also waiting on DT Alexander Dumais. If he commits elsewhere, I believe there's someone else waiting in the wings with a familiar name.

JC OL Ernest Moore, 6-8, 305, CC of San Fransisco - has been offered
