Andre Allen is WR Coach

Post by uhwarriors »

Allen has coached the wide receivers at City College of San Francisco since 1991 and has mentored every Top 10 receiver in the program’s history including leading receiver Easop Winston. He served as offensive coordinator for the past 13 years and during that time, the Rams won three national titles and captured eight Northern California Championships.

In 26 years at CCSF, Allen coached 64 players who earned FBS scholarships. He also coached the tight ends and was passing coordinator for eight years. In total, Allen was a member of eight national championship teams and 21 conference championship teams.

Wow looks like he was a fixture San Francisco. How did Rolo snag him away? Looks like a good pick up by Coach Rolo!

I can't say I am as excited. A career JC coach just does not do it for me.

Ron Lee was a career HS coach before joining the Hawaiian Staff and he did an awesome job coaching receivers. This gotten from many former receivers including those who played in the NFL

looks like he only recently got his bachelors degree (2014) - that may have something to do with his long tenure at the JC level.

Rolo was at CCSF before UH, so that means that Andre Allen was Rolo's coach as passing game coordinator. That's kind of interesting...

He seems to have a lot of OC experience. More than our coaches? :D

He couldn't be worse than the old WR coach. It blows my mind he and Legi got offered by Oregon State. I thought they would both be fired.

Hopefully Coach Allen will coach the receivers to catch balls with their hands before pulling the ball into their bodies for ball security. Really got tired of watching footballs bouncing off receivers chests, shoulder pads, helmets, etc. Not for forget balls slipping down past receivers own balls before dropping to the ground.
