Re: 6-6 WR Nick Mardner (Canada) Commits
First reaction is I like the height. Just hope the coaches take full advantage of it. I need to look into more of his tape to see how he plays.

Nice height. Seems like a long strider. Hope he can a little faster. Then could be an Attrice Brooks type.

Nice. I really like the potential that I see in this receiver. I just hope we hire a good receivers coach.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

Looks sluggish off the snap but once he gets going his stride kicks in. Hopefully the strength training program will help develop his initial burst. Good get!

I agree on his starts. He actually doesn't look like he is trying to pick up speed fast. Once he gets going, he's pretty fast. Check his Hudl video at 5:30 when he goes all out to throw a block and he's going a lot faster than everyone else. He'll definitely need to get more explosive out of the starting blocks.
I like the way he catches the ball with his hands and that's probably his strength now. Almost always with perfect hand position. He can make the circus catches too. It's hard to see, but on the Hudl video at 0:38 and 2:30, he makes a great one handed catches.
He may have upside but I think he's got a lot to learn and needs to really get into the strength and conditioning program.

I really do hope he turns into a fantastic receiver for us. I'm telling myself not to get hyped. The last time we had a big boy at WR, we were all disappointed.

This big WR maybe a good downfield blocker for when Brian Smith turns the O into Chowball.

He makes all of the defensive backs on the video look like midgets - oops, "little people", to be more politically correct.

VERY RAW with decent straight-line speed.
Projects as a tight end in the middle of the field.
Who else was recruiting this dude?
