Even by 1992 standards the defense was small and a bit too slow for a team like San Diego State but in the tradition of Hawaii defenses they played solid and kept on coming. Michael Carter's toughness set the standard for the offense and is definitely one of my all time favorite players. Both offense and defense were well coached, tough as nails and rank highly as one of my most memorable teams.

That 1992 team destroyed Wyoming, 42-18, in our season finale.

Still can't bring myself to watch the DVD of that horror provided by a good friend of mine.

For me, I still think the 2006 team was the best. 3 losses by a total of 18 points and all to top 25 teams. But I was able to go to the Holiday Bowl and it was a blast. Good to get a win too.

1992 team was fun to watch. Screamed my head off at Holiday Bowl, we were surrounded by loudmouth Illinois fans who of course left before the game was over...

One of their two loses came against a then #24 ranked San Diego St and some guy named Marshall Faulk.
Fresno St ended the season ranked at #24
BYU was a preseason #24

While I love the 1992 team, I would also put the 2006 team ahead of the 1992 team on my list of top teams. I would also list Ivan Jasper QB, when listings key players from that 1992 team. He was the starting QB in the Oregon and BYU games that season.

But when listing all-time best UH games, that 1992 game and win against a very good Fresno State team that would go on to beat USC in the Freedom bowl was just a great game.

Ivan Jasper to Marlo Lewis for the game winning TD in the final seconds of then #25 BYU Cougars

Ah yeah....your welcome. By the way it was the last win by the Bows against Wyoming until 2014 under Norm Chow. Bohl's first at Wyoming.

- During the 90s no Hawaii team beat San Diego St going (0-9). They last won on 1989 then broke the streak in 2002
- Last time they beat Colorado St going (0-7)
- Last time they beat BYU until 2001 going (0-6)
- Last time they beat Wyoming until 2015 going (0-6)
- After beating Air Force they won again in 1993, then went (0-4) until beating them in 2001
- Last road win at UTEP in until 2002 going (0-3)
- Bob Wagner is 3-0 over Oregon with a road win in 1992 and home wins in 1988 & 1994

Read my post above yours, Big Wave. Hawaii beat us in 2014. We missed ya in 2015 (we got both Nevada schools and the Asstecs  in 2015 & 2016).
