It was nice to see the reduction in Hawaii dumb penalties and watch SJSU commit the dumb penalties over and over. One of those dumb selfish unsportsmanlike penalties SJSU committed cost them to kick a way longer extra point that Hawaii blocked and returned for 2 points. And was a game changing play.

The Hawaii secondary is still giving up way to many big plays, if they can’t cover any body they have to at least make the tackle! While Hawaii blitzing worked at the towards of the game when SJSU was way behind and had to pass to play try catch up. But Hawaii needs a new DC.

We have 5 more games to go. We won't be changing DC in the middle of the season. I would like to see what kind of adjustments he makes. Would like to see in game adjustments done earlier.

We have VERY inexperienced coaches in key positions

DLine coach , GA Marc Moody, experience (4 years coaching DIII)

LB coach Sean Duggan, experience (1 year GA at BC, 1 year LB coach at Hawaii)

Plus we have Legi Suiaunoa as defensive coordinator who according to the analysts doing the Nevada game on CBSSN should stop being overly aggressive instead of holding their positions. As I watched the replay on YouTube, you could tell that there was some reason why Nevada had such an aggressive running game. Hawaii was playing to get the QB when they should have held their positions and covered their entire field. If an analyst can see this, the other teams can see this on tape as well. There you go, the holes in the defense. No disguise. Also, defensive backs should not give the inside position to the receivers in the Red zone.
