Offense nickname
Coach asked for suggestions last night at CTC. 1420 also asked during the SA show all afternoon.
what you guys think?
I think they said Rolo was taking suggestions directly on his twitter as well.

I don't tweet.. but if I did..
I'd suggest "slash and burn" from the old sugar cane days... cut em down and burn 'em for a sweet outcome.

Re: Offense nickname
It's a little early to say. Here's a few that come to mind: The mahi flop that walloped a manini. One long pass to John Ursua that saved the game. 4 sacks, 2 lost fumbles, an INT, and a lot of offensive penalties.
I love the swagger...but it really isn't deserved yet.

Re: Offense nickname
I think Rolo meant in general for his offense, not just the first game.

Would like to see the offense be more productive overall before giving it a name.chawan_cut wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 8:50 am I think Rolo meant in general for his offense, not just the first game.
Re: Offense nickname
i'm thinking he's looking for something like: hula-t, run and shoot, pistol.
so, . . .
"shock-awe" offense.
the crowd does a one hand shaka pointing downfield for each first down. two hand shaka for tds, field goals and kickoffs.
"pounder" defense.
the crowd does a closed fist hammered into open palm of other hand, like pounding poi. used for third downs or to celebrate hard tackles and sacks.

Re: Offense nickname
Almost anything would be an improvement over "Chowball".
Cats don't have owners. Cats have servants.
Re: Offense nickname
Since Hawaii is home to the US Armed Forces, and the Army has hosted/trained the Warriors off-season:
Maybe ask Army and Navy if the Warriors can use or incorporate their special forces names - such as the Green Beret (defense), and SEALS (offense) (Sea, Air, Land).

Re: Offense nickname
No need anything fancy, Roloball is good. Pistol+Four Wide=Roloball.

Re: Offense nickname
Chowlo ball ( Chow + Rolo ball) . There have been a bunch of offensive series that harkens back to Unko Chow's run between the tackles left, right then short pass or bomb. They also become super predictable , so much so that my wife who doesnt know FB we starts predicting the plays correctly. I said this after the first game last year...if there WRs only run predetermined routes and not option routes based on the defensive played, Rolo aill be closer to Chow than JJ. Lastly, where is the read option with a pass after fake handoff to the RB? With so many runs yesterday, those LBs were attacking the line of scrimmages that's when you hit em with the fake handoff then pass to the TE or WR. This works against JV teams like the 2 last opponents. #notconvinced

i agree, the offensive has no variations and has a hard time finishing drives.
