8/5 Practice
These are some observations on today’s practice
The offense is way ahead of last year at this time in terms of execution and the playbook has been expanded.
Naeole is experimenting with and cross-training the O-line. Ulu-Perry was at RT after being at C most of the last week. Eli was at C today after being mostly at RG this week. Vanterpool who was at LT, was at LG. Graves who has been at RT and RG, was at C. Norman who has been at RT was backing up Allen at LT. Posa and Hensley rotated at RG. In individual drills Waa lined up at RT, while lining up at LG during the scrimmage. Kipper continued at RT.
Some of the highlights of the live scrimmage:
Brown threw a long TD pass to I think Ewaliko on first play of the live scrimmage.
McDonald lofted a TD pass to FR TE Greeley who outjumped a DB in the corner of the endzone.
McDonald flashed his sprinter speed down the sidelines for a 25 yard TD run
Holly cutback on an inside run for a 20 yard TD.
FR RB Reed is very quick and shifty running between the tackles.
FR RB Heliiliki is a strong big back with quick feet. He had run of about 20 yards and punished the tackler at the end.
Timoteo caught a pass in traffic, broke a tackle and scored a TD.
On an RPO play, Tuileta threw a TD pass to Stallworth.
Moala had a sack and a couple of hurries.
Tuiasoa lost weight and is much quicker and shiftier this year.

Thank you, uhwarriors. Always great to get updates of practice. I'm glad we seem to have a stable of decent RBs.Big power backs and quick, nimble ones.

Re: 8/5 Practice
off topic, but do you know when the Warriors new uniforms and helmets will be revealed? I'm pretty excited to see what/if UA came up with something nicer than their efforts in the past years.

The new helmets will be unveiled next week Sunday to the team and the donors who helped buy the helmets. There won't be new uniforms this year.stranger808 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2017 1:40 pm off topic, but do you know when the Warriors new uniforms and helmets will be revealed? Thanks uhwarriors. Little more insight than Tsai or I guess a different point of view. Much appreciated for those of us who live away from home.

The Nike ones? Yup, those were by far the most badass unis we've ever had. Not too much graphics/stripes/colorblocking, just the tapa pattern going around one sleeve and one leg. Let the custom font team name and numbers do the rest of the talking.
Too bad we (re)signed with the wrong company.

Re: 8/5 Practice
it's not like nike has the copyright on an all black uniform. all it takes is some time, and a coach that would rather spend the uniform budget on that look vs the green & white look they recently got.bandits1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:03 pmThe Nike ones? It's not going to happen this year due to time constraints. But I can almost guarantee we'll have an updated version of the black jersey on black pants or green jersey on black pants next year.ubercow wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 3:20 pmit's not like nike has the copyright on an all black uniform. all it takes is some time, and a coach that would rather spend the uniform budget on that look vs the green & white look they recently got.bandits1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:03 pmThe Nike ones? At the Kauai Meet the Coach event, Coach Rolovich said that if he had his way, he'd bring back the classic JJ era uniforms.Irse wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 7:39 pmDid Rolo like the black jerseys?uhwarriors wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2017 5:18 pmIt's not going to happen this year due to time constraints.
