One of the top high school football players in American Samoa has accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Hawaii football team.
Penei Stowers-Pavihi, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker from Tafuna High, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he will put his commitment in writing on Feb. 1, the first day 2017 prospects may sign national letters of intent.
By pledging to UH, Stowers-Pavihi is turning down offers from Washington State and Oregon State.

Awesome. Saw a picture of him and he looks like a linebacker! Warrior linebacking crew looking solid for next few years.

I like LBs with size. Nice pickup. Good to have the connection with Tafuna.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

They broadcast the UH games to Samoa so who would want to go to the Pac-12 when your family can hear your games. Also, Hawaiian Air flies to/from but its harder to fly from Samoa to the West Coast. If a player is good they have just a good a chance of getting attention with the NFL as any of the Big 5 schools.

His highlight clips are awesome. Can see him flying around and getting "katoooshes". MWC offensive players beware!
