I think ESPN since they own the game.

Hey I have a question, do the other MWC teams with better records get first choice of what bowl game they want? if so then it's possible that UH could go to some other bowl?
I hope not, but am curious if that is how it works.

not how it works at all. unless the bowl game has a tie in specific to where a team finished in the conference (like a conference champion or #2 or #3), then it is up to the conferences and other parties like the bowl game owners and such to determine who goes where. both the MWC and ESPNRT want UH in the Hawaii Bowl for money reasons, so that's where they will end up. I think there's also a provision saying that if Hawaii is bowl eligible and does not go to a New Years Day bowl that they have first choice at the Hawaii Bowl.

Sorry, UCF not in Conference USA. :D
Cats don't have owners. Cats have servants.

because there are not enough teams to fulfill all of the pre-defined bowl tie-ins, there will be some negotiating and shuffling of the deck to get different teams into different bowl games. the Hawaii Bowl may not necessarily end up with a C-USA opponent. Remember when Notre Dame came to town in 2008?

CUSA has 6 bowl tie ins. There is 6 CUSA bowl eligible schools, 7 if North Texas gets in at 5-7. UCF ain't going to the Hawaii Bowl. The only way it's possible is if CUSA fills a bowl spot in one of the bowls they are the backup for (independence bowl)
