Official. Pretty much says all you need to know about the current state of the QB position. Here's hoping a turnaround is in order for #11.

Re: FALL CAMP: A QB Discussion
I'm not surprised. Beyond the experience factor, Woolsey is ahead in running the entire package. The offense includes run and shoot, read option and run pass option. While some of the other QBs definitely got better during fall camp, I don't think any of them had the whole package down. At the Saturday's scrimmage at the Stadium, Woolsey was running things that others just weren't. He also had the best clock management and on the field leadership.
The only reason Woolsey probably wasn't named earlier this week was a shoulder issue. But it also gave more time for the others to pickup more reps. The big question is who is second, Zwahlen or Brown? It might come down to what skills and parts of the offense they want to emphasis if the need occurs to bring in another QB.

I hope Zwahlen gets one series every half. Just to get some experience and not at mop up time.

Re: Woolsey Named Starting QB
Based on what I had seen before Saturday's scrimmage at spring practice, the spring game and the first two weeks of fall practice, I didn't think Zwahlen was going to hold onto the #2 spot. He has a strong arm and throws a nice ball, butwas very inconsistent. But last Saturday at the scrimmage he looked like a different guy. A couple of times I had to double check that it was him who made the throw. Brown picked up things quickly and on the depth chart they are both listed at #2. So if one of them needed to be brought it, it will probably be based on what part of the offense is needed and which one executes that part best.Irse wrote:I hope Zwahlen gets one series every half.
