Nice rollup. QB and an OT should round out this class quite well. If there are any scholarships left after that, best available or wait until after LOI day to see who may have been left behind.
Excited to see what Rolo and his staff can do with a full year of recruiting and relationship-building.

Re: "Hana Pa'a! #almostpau" with recruiting for UH.....
A few other interesting tidbits about this class:
- Only one JUCO. For having such a miserable past four years under Chow, Rolo and staff felt there was enough talent on the current roster to compete next season. I would tend to agree. Never bought into the idea that this team didn't have talent (look at the first three quarters against Ohio State), they were just hampered by an uninspired coaching staff and scheme. I don't expect a JJ'esque turnaround next season, but I expect the team to be competitive and well-coached all season.
- Only four local HS recruits. Less than a quarter of the class. I expect Rolo and staff to slow the hemorrhaging of local talent next season. It's obvious he understands the importance of this program to the community and his enthusiasm will be infectious. Expectations shouldn't be unreasonable; there are tons of program poaching Hawaii's best (this year spanned from basically every PAC-12 team to Vandy to Utah State). With that being said...
- Up to 14 HS recruits from the mainland/Pacific. Over 3/4 of the class. All from different schools. All with superb talent. It shows an extensive network of recruiting contacts throughout the West Coast and the Pacific. For those who were worried that Rolo was too young to have established a solid recruiting foundation, you're wrong. And this was under significant time and planning constraints.
Again, I'm looking forward to seeing what Rolo and staff can do with a full year to recruit and build relationships.

I agree that never want to rely on heavy JC recruiting.....however would still hope that UH takes a good look at these local boys who will among the top JC prospects next year.....for Class of 2017......wayoutwest wrote:Only one JUCO. ditto, i appreciated the compiling as well. With the 16 commits in the first post, plus the two unconfirmed commits (#getSamoansallover & #BraveWarrior). Looks like only ONE unfilled schollie as we only had 19 to offer this year, unless some of our offers are gray or blue shirts.My3Cats wrote:Nice recap Kapakahi!
