The idea here is the get tOSU so overconfident that they will totally overlook UH and goof off. Then follows the upset of the millennium! Michigan apparently overlooked App State.

Those underdogs had good players on their teams. Our Dline is so lacking. Keeping within 50 of tOSU would be an accomplishment.

Rasmussen is 300lbs now and not sure how heavy Penitito is now but he was supposedly unbockable at he start of spring practice - so hopefully more like 275 now up from the 250 listed. So with the JC 300 lb. NT coming in there will be some depth however unproven. Samia was a BIG loss since our DL was stout to start the season against those Pac-12 schools last year. Hopefully the D will not be as bad as everyone is thinking and the Offense should be better with Wittek or I think Aaron Zwahlen has a lot of Potential coming in the summer after a two-year Mormon mission.

Some high school video on Nikko Taylor:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUoD5bwN-xQ

This guy looks pretty good - hopefully he still can move at 300lbs since he was 260lbs in high school according this video. Now he benches 400lbs up (per the Star-Advertiser article) from 345lbs per the video.

So there is some hope for our DL...

This guy makes way to many choppy steps and spins...that won't cut it in D1...hope he's stronger and can hold the point.

I had to think about this one since kapakahi posted. So if the young man is a class of 2015 soon to be graduate, is he being considered for a scholarship offer or invited walk on?
Dunno.

All I know is that.....this local Class of 2015 HS kid played in the OIA.......and has legit 6'6" height......probably taller.......and weighs at least 260 lbs......and was getting a lot of personal attention from Bo Montgomery (former UH Warrior DE and current UH Recruiting Coordinator).
That "project" kid won't help with depth this season

Nikko-I'm sure will learn to hold the point-the tools look like they are there and hopefully his speed is in the 5 flat area at 300lbs. from 4.87 according to the high school video. If we were playing a 4-3 D, Nikko would make at Great 3T.

In HS and JC he played DT. Unless we switch to a 4-3, he'll be asked to play NT.

What's happening with him? Wasn't he supposed to join last year?

Hmmm, he transferred over last summer. A graduate student, he should have been eligible last year. Don't know what happened to him. We sure could use him now.

Kapakahi:
It doesn’t appear Taylor is eligible to play.
NT/DT is working on meeting eligibility requirements.
