Re: Official "Who should be the next AD" Thread
I don't like Mufi or Neil.
Re: Official "Who should be the next AD" Thread
I threw mufi into the list as a joke, and he's in second place! wtf!

Hahahahahaha....My3Cats wrote:Mufi needs a good job, has the executive experience, sports background, local ties, ties to the business community and previously had the ties to the people and corporations with money, looks like you and me, and needs a job. Did I already say that he needs a job?
I am the one who knocks.

Mufi looks more like us than Abercrombie.madeinhawaii wrote:What happened to my Abercrombie suggestion? We need someone with UH background who thinks they are higher up than anyone there, BOR included, to put the fix on the entire system... top down, bottom up. Because until that's done, nothing will change at lower campus. None of the above can accomplish that.BigWave96744 wrote:Mufi is a huge fan.
He played collegiate Bball, used to host the summer youth basketball jam and worked with the NFL for the Pro Bowl.
Small kine joking but if he was the AD Maybe he could somehow work with the government to get "His Rail" to run from Kapolei to Manoa and thus connecting the 2 campuses and eventually having an onsite stadium out in Kapolei

Mufi has shown he's capable of raising funds. He knows the community.
No need any committee. Chose Mufi!

Add R. Miano to the list!
Be humble and confident in yourself and all things you do.
Re: Official "Who should be the next AD" Thread
I added Neil Abercrombie and Rich Miano to the list, per requests...
the additions caused the results to be zeroed out. Please cast your votes again!

Cats don't have owners. Cats have servants.

I don't know anyone that does not like Shoji. Riley Wallace is also a good guy.
I would form a committee of Shoji, Wallace, and June Jones and have them select the next AD.
All three would volunteer if asked. So we do not have to pay them anything.

Actually we need a package deal.. a UH president, Chancellor and AD ... like minded, progressive, proactive, all with a good sense of priorities and understanding that more positive public interest is the only way to really grow the University and bring it up a few levels.

Need to make Athletic department like the coaching staff. With a change at the head, athletic department staff should be made to reapply for their positions.madeinhawaii wrote:Actually we need a package deal.. a UH president, Chancellor and AD ... like minded, progressive, proactive, all with a good sense of priorities and understanding that more positive public interest is the only way to really grow the University and bring it up a few levels.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

Re: Official "Who should be the next AD" Thread
The AD needs to be a guy who really want's to take the program to a higher level and isn't afraid to butt heads with upper campus even if might mean being fired. So, s/he has to be pretty much financially secure already. Has to know what to expect, how difficult it is to manage things in Hawaii... where to get funds... and where to get political clout.
Re: Official "Who should be the next AD" Thread
Mufi would put a local face on the program(s). Neil and June are too old.
