Won't matter who gets hired as AD until the hive-mind up at UH get their heads out of their okoles and start working together efficiently toward a common goal, whatever that goal may be.

I recommend him. http://www.arizonawildcats.com/ViewArti ... =207985756
It's going to be hard to get him to leave, but $$$$$ talks? Maybe.

That's for the leaders to decide. This post is about a good AD. Looking at what he has done in University of Arizona, I would go after him.UnBiasFan wrote:What money?cabanalane wrote:I recommend him. http://www.arizonawildcats.com/ViewArti ... =207985756

I am a sports fan so I might say bank roll it from a selfish perspective.cabanalane wrote:That's for the leaders to decide. This post is about a good AD. But there are a lot of people hurting in this economy. Not a single tax dollar should go to sports designed for the rich, elite class until working people are given some relief. People are struggling to pay their vehicle tax and every other tax.
That tax money should not be transferred to this program so the wealthy can enjoy their sport. Face it, Hawaii athletics is targeted for rich people. Let them pay for it themselves.
Regular working class kids are not even interested. Their parents can't afford to take them there. And it can't be watched on regular TV. There are a ton of kids playing football that have no connection at all. So their parents should not be paying a dime of tax money for this.

That's why I chose Mufi. We need someone strong enough to lead, not just someone that just follows bad leadership down the same wrong path.EITSwarrior wrote:Won't matter who gets hired as AD until the hive-mind up at UH get their heads out of their okoles and start working together efficiently toward a common goal, whatever that goal may be.

You answered another question I had (in my mind). I left Hawaii a long time ago, so I don't know anymore. Used to watch UH Football on KHNL (?) channel 13 "free" on Saturday nights. It was broadcast after the game ended, so I would stay up late....as a kid. IIRC, the game ended at like 12:30am.UnBiasFan wrote: Their parents can't afford to take them there. Yes, I figure now it's not "free." OC Sports - Oceanic Cable Sports.
True. If I never watched it as a kid, I would never been a fan.

Wait....you can watch it free on-line. Firstrow sports. http://xn--frstrowsports-39b.eu/
There are nagging pop ups, and doesn't work well with the new computers (or I just don't know how).
But it's how I watch UH sports. With my old PC, the video size is like 4X4 inches on the screen. Not the same enjoyment. But it works.
I hope people know that....FYI.

Mufi needs a good job, has the executive experience, sports background, local ties, ties to the business community and previously had the ties to the people and corporations with money, looks like you and me, and needs a job. Did I already say that he needs a job?

Is Mufi a sports fan? A real sports fan? I think AD needs to be. Mufi got the politics part down, for sure.

Mufi is a huge fan.
He played collegiate Bball, used to host the summer youth basketball jam and worked with the NFL for the Pro Bowl.
Small kine joking but if he was the AD Maybe he could somehow work with the government to get "His Rail" to run from Kapolei to Manoa and thus connecting the 2 campuses and eventually having an onsite stadium out in Kapolei

What happened to my Abercrombie suggestion? We need someone with UH background who thinks they are higher up than anyone there, BOR included, to put the fix on the entire system... top down, bottom up. Because until that's done, nothing will change at lower campus. None of the above can accomplish that.BigWave96744 wrote:Mufi is a huge fan.

Neil pissed off too many people, including the NFL execs and hardcore Democrats.
How many times has he been booed at UH events.
