Tulsa just fired their coach who finished a 4 year stint with a 24-27 record, 1-1 Bowl record, 1CUSA title and an 11-3 season.

I wish we had that kind of results

And that folks, is a coach with two successful runs as a head coach at FBS programs, including San Diego State. Head coaching experience helps, but does not guarantee success, especially at a school that expects better.

Damn, he came in the same year as Norm Chow and Charlie Weiss..... Hawaii and Kansas could have only dreamed for this kind of turnaround
McElwain is 22-16 in his three seasons at Colorado State after leaving Alabama as an assistant coach. Under McElwain, Colorado State has improved each season by improving from three wins the year before McElwain was hired, to four wins his first year, eight wins and a bowl victory in 2013 and a 10-win season this fall. McElwian has proven capable of building a winner in a short period of time at Colorado State

Shoots I can understand why. I mean, we did the same with someone who had a significantly better record back in 2011.

+ Went with the unproven HC. Great job "secret big donor". That is what we get when decisions that impact many is done in the dark by influential ppl

Maybe Houston might want to take a look at the Guru, Norm Chow to take them to the next level.
