End of first half
About 40 seconds left, we have 3 timeouts and the ball
1st play, run up the middle.
2nd play run up the middle and fumble.
Pretty much sums up the last 3 years.
I feel sorry for the players.

Re: End of first half
I agree they should've been more aggressive, especially since Nevada would be receiving the ball to start the 2nd half. Shows that they don't have faith in their ability to run a two-minute offense.

Re: End of first half
I thought for sure with 40 seconds left we would once again see some type of Hail Mary. I was pretty disappointed Chow decided to just try and run the clock out. I mean WTF is there to lose, the season is pretty much lost already and somewhat Chows job too, call the game like it's your last day coaching ever.....balls out screw being conservative.

If you only got that much time left to end the half and you going to go into conservative mode, then why not just take a knee?
I would have wanted to see Chow take some shots down field, we had the lead and momentum, maybe could have at least got into FG range.
Re: End of first half
Worse was the predictable plays they ran coming out of the half time break. Nevada wasn't fooled at all and got the ball back which in the end killed our defense. Our tired defenders missed tackles and looked really slow trying to contain Fajardo. Our dline was getting blasted.

Hawaii D played solid for most of the 1st half. Maws stuffing Nevada's running game. BUT, Coach Rolo made adjustments with Fajardp keeping and running the ball.

+4. Our players deserve better coaches.
edit: I'm plus four already.

Our defense was getting tired from the end of the first half - gave up five scoring drives from the end of the second quarter to the end of the game, 26 unanswered points.RedZone wrote:Worse was the predictable plays they ran coming out of the half time break. The difference in this game was coaching. Nevada's coaches made adjustments in the second half. Chow will study the game film after the fact.Grinch wrote:Hawaii D played solid for most of the 1st half. Maws stuffing Nevada's running game. Re: End of first half
I think everyone is missing the fact that the OLBs were unable to contain the quick Nevada QB and the FS and SS were taking bad angles all night. The MLBs also missed many tackles because they were leaving there feet or lunging on tackles. I wonder what Kurt from Waianae has to say about this problem!? Is it coaching or talent? I'd say likely a combination.808Hawaii wrote:Our defense was getting tired from the end of the first half - gave up five scoring drives from the end of the second quarter to the end of the game, 26 unanswered points.RedZone wrote:Worse was the predictable plays they ran coming out of the half time break. Re: End of first half
We needed a spy on Fajardo. I was calling out for one from the first drive in the second half. And the DEs needed to hold contain. We should have tried to make Fajardo beat us with his arm.Palolo_2LA wrote: I think everyone is missing the fact that the OLBs were unable to contain the quick Nevada QB and the FS and SS were taking bad angles all night.
